Co-written by Williams alongside Hank Redd, Nathan Watts, and Susaye Greene, and crafted under the masterful musical direction of Maurice White and Charles Stepney, the track marked her breakthrough as a solo artist. It soared to No. 2 on the US R&B (Hot Soul) chart and cracked the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 25, but it was across the pond in the UK where it truly reigned – holding the No. 1 spot on the Singles Chart for two weeks in May 1977.
