Owazama (Ecstatic Mix) is the latest offering in a series of sacred remixes honoring the songs of the Yawanawa people of the Brazilian Amazon.

Originally recorded by Raio during a traditional ayahuasca ceremony in the jungle, this powerful chant is performed by Yawanawa artists Ninunihu & Yaka Yawanawa — carriers of ancestral wisdom and sacred song. After returning to his studio in Bali, Raio invited me (J.Pool) to bring this song into a new context — bridging the ancient with the modern, the ceremonial with the dance floor.

With deep reverence, I shaped this remix as an offering — honoring the essence of the original while adding rhythm, movement, and spacious textures to support ecstatic dance and deep connection.

Owazama invites us into presence, into remembrance. It is a celebration of the universal human spirit: to sing, to dance, and to give thanks.

Losing my virginity in terms of playing an Ecstatic Dance event turned out to be a really interesting experience and quite different to my usual gigs. Only having two hours to craft the type of journey that would usually take me up to 8 hours required some precise attention to track selection and mixing, as my intention was to take the dancers on a flowing and seamless cinematic voyage from an atmospheric and sensual warmup, into an hour of full on ecstatic dance music that culminated in an emotional and relaxing conclusion. Judging from the reaction of the dancefloor, which literally exploded at one point, I think it was a successful foray into a new world and I’m sure I’ll be playing many more of these in the future.

It was such an honour to share my music medicine for my dear friends and family in the most magical of places that we have been calling home for the last 4 months ~ The Crystal Castle. ✨💎

This set was completely improvised in the moment... trusting the flow and the energy that wanted to come through. Also, the recording has been left raw and un-edited. I'm still learning a lot, and I'm happy to share the (sometimes messy) process.

"The drum, the mythical dance, and the help of those present at this worship (their belief in the shaman)-"Ongo" is trance, the state of excitement, accompanied by dances and "Kamlanié", rambling mumbling and incantation of the spirits.
To become a shaman, a man must inherit this gift from one of his ancestors. It is called "Utkha". From the root and essence of the Shaman, the spirits themselves come to the one they have chosen. An innate skill passed down from heavenly beings and then ancestors to shamans in order to exercise their mystical gift."
 
Siti Naturaleza (Jakarta-Indonesia), in a Trance state of being in her beautiful deep Shamanic singings; soft but strong , playfull but decided, lovefull and erotic she guides our soul to go deep and flow on the stream of this ecstatic and powerfull energy; inviting our body to connect with the tantric and sensual frequencies, melodies and rhythms of Intiche´s music. 
This track is part of a series of jammings and recordings beewtwen their travels from Berlin to Indonesia and from Indonesia to Berlin; recorded & mixed at Organic Studios, Berlin; in Germany.

We  would like to thank all the artists who contributed to this project which is very dear to us. 
This compilation is the result of a long collaboration, artistic exchanges and moreover passion for music with exceptional producers who have blown their inspiration and interpretation into the universe of O'Utkha.

Alchemy Dance Meditation Feat. Temple de Renca by Kora

An artist with a difference, Stevie Keys is an accomplished DJ who draws on his classical background to perform live piano over his sets, as well as a renowned producer with a history of releasing house music going back 20 years. You might not realise it but if you’ve been on a dancefloor in recent years you’re likely to be familiar with Stevie’s production as his original tracks have been released on some of the hottest labels around, licensed to over 100 compilations worldwide and supported by the world’s biggest DJ’s, such as Carl Cox, Pete Tong and Armin Van Buuren.

Born in Australia and always obsessed with music, Stevie Keys first trained as a classical pianist, before moving on to study sound engineering and completing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. By the age of 18 he had a record deal as a solo artist and had performed all over Australia, supporting artists such as Bjork and The Prodigy on their tours of the Southern Hemisphere.

Moving to London at the age of 19 he went on to record under various artist names including Antartica (for seminal UK dance label React), Altitude (Bonzai Records/ Sony), Sound of Soho (with Eye Industries/ Universal) and Tremor (for the influential Progressive House imprint Platipus).

Some career highlights include cowriting songs with legendary artists such as Nile Rodgers & Bernard Summers, remixing for the likes of Sia, R Kelly and James Holden, hosting a weekly radio show on DI.FM (one of the pioneering internet stations for electronic music) compiling and mixing compilation albums such as The Art of Chill (Sony) and producing several underground club hits that broke into the UK singles chart and were subsequently licensed to major labels such as Sony and Universal.

Now resident in Koh Phangan, Thailand which is famous for the Full Moon Party but is also becoming a popular destination on the international DJ circuit. In 2015 he created the now legendary Why Nam day party, before moving on to found Bambu Huts, which is fast becoming one of the most popular music venues in Thailand. 

Finally settled in this tropical island paradise after years of travelling the world, Stevie Keys is the resident DJ/ musical director of Bambu Huts, where he created The Sunday Session in 2023. This weekly event quickly established itself as the premier party on the island and is famous for having a distinct & sophisticated sound focused on afro, organic & deep house. Here Stevie plays extended sets with live musicians every week alongside illustrious guests such as Chus & La Santa (Redolent/ Stereo Productions), Djuma Soundsystem (Iziki Global), Igor Marijuan (Akasha Ibiza), DJ Ino (Cafe de Anatolia), Rezident (Anjunadeep) and many others.
