Meaning,

This is about a man who is trying to wrap his mind around the pain of a woman he loves, lying to him and dragging him along. She makes him feel like there is something intimate between them but continues to keep her distance, never revealing her true feelings or intentions. At the end of the song, he admits that the pain will always be there, but so will the love he has for her.
