Cormac Dermody (fiddle), Radie Peat (concertina and harmonium) and Brian Flanagan (five-string banjo) play traditional songs and tunes from both sides of the Atlantic. Murder ballads, barn-dances, whaling songs and old-time tunes are treated with an emphasis on harmony and swelling, droning, chordal arrangements.

Anderson is the solo musical venture of Daniel Anderson, a musician and songwriter from Ireland.

Having spent much of his youth playing with bands across Dublin’s live circuit, Daniel subsequently retreated to the outskirts of the city where he built his own recording studio and began crafting his first set of songs as a solo artist.

Anderson’s songs are mature and literate, but also melodically appealing. Influenced by the pioneering production techniques and arrangements of the 1960s and ’70s, Daniel’s carefully crafted material manages the rare feat of conveying classic pop melodies without sacrificing the distinctive character of the introspective, personal sentiments.

In late 2012, two self-produced Anderson tracks ‘Patterns’ & ‘History’ were made available with accompanying videos on andersonsongs.com. In March 2013, a new four track EP entitled ‘Hallowed Heart’ was released while Daniel and band performed their first set of shows as a live outfit.

Daniel spent the entirety of 2014 recording and mixing the twelve tracks that comprise his debut record.
