Interstellar - Finalist 2014 UK Songwriting Contest

Award Winning Singer Songwriter
I am a singer songwriter writing acoustic guitar based songs as well as more commercial material.  I have been a finalist and twice a semifinalist in the UK Songwriting contest and a member of the International Guild of Songwriters and Composers.  I write in singer-songwriter style, probably most similar to James Blunt, but recently have focused more on commercial and jazzy songs where I have collaborated with singer Sandy Mira.  I try to ensure my songs have a wide range of styles.  Ideally I would like to get a publishing deal for my songs.

Performances
I have performed in various venues around Reading and in London,mostly alone, but have also entered in a few collaborations.  Paul Cooper has played drums on a few of my tracks.

Equipment
I play finger style guitar using a Lowden O10 and Alvarez classical guitar and use a Yamaha QY100 to record my backing tracks on a Boss BR1200 recorder.  I also play a Godin electric guitar and Yamaha bass.  I have various pieces of percussion, although I haven't recorded any percussion yet.

 Inspirations
My songwriting inspiration is from Del Amitri, The Beatles, Jose Gonzales, Damian Rice and Crowded House.  I like songs with good imagery and an implied rather than explicit story.
