6. Sky Light Grey - this is the second collaboration I’ve done with Mark Spruce (Original Spruce). These are his lyrics about a moving, spiritual encounter with a robin in an English churchyard and how it triggered thoughts of his father in law’s spirit visiting through that bird. I found it really moving. My tune and performance. Mastered by RCD Audio.

I stood in the church yard
Cold winters day
My back to the beach tree
Sky light grey

On the branch above me
Cock robin perched 
He sang then stared intently 
I returned his gaze

He repeated his song
And looked again
I smiled and nodded
Like we were friends 

I turned so slowly
As he moved to another branch
Eyeball to eyeball 
Repeat performance 

We both stood still
Locked in our game
He moved on once more
To repeat his refrain

I turned one eighty
When he landed behind me
My smile got wider
My heart got lighter
Watching each other
I'm absorbing this experience 

Then he came closer
We had circled the tree
A mystical moment 
This bird and me

In the spirit of a robin

As I stood in that churchyard

This is a bit of a change from my last happy song , it's a tad sobering ! It's not an anti war song by any means , I know they do have to happen from time to time to when tyrants are involved , sometimes we have no choice and have to rid the world of a monster . But it's always a sad state of affairs and this song reflects that , I do hope you like it though ! On a happier note , me and Kim have a cracking song out on the 21st , and after that are two belting songs , one a tongue in cheek rocker with Axel Menningen , and a huge song with Gaz Brownie . I'm so sorry about that!
It seems like there are maniacs running big countries in the world!!
President Zelenskyij and the Ukrainian people are heroes! We all must support them and be kind to them. Dear President Trump - You may not abandon Ukraine. They have a hell there. President Putin and his government must be completely out of their minds. They are sooo cruel. How do the Russian people react?? Are they ashamed?? They are probably being deceived!

It is hard when friends are abandoning them - they get so sad
Their hearts will break now when companions are leaving them
but we don’t want any maniacs to rule the whole world
we want to have wise folks to rule


It was hard when neighbors attacked their land - they were surprised
They can’t understand what is the reason for this bloody attack
they haden’t done anything nasty which could motivate this assault
the motive was probably a sign of greed


The invadors show signs of megalomania which are severe
it’s very serious and there are paranoic signs as well
but we don’t want any maniacs to rule the whole world
we want to have wise folks to rule
