Steyoyoke Recordings are well known for their constant innovation and this new project arrives with much excitement. ‘Steyoyoke Black Reconstructed’ is designed to enable artists to delve into past Steyoyoke Black releases and rework them with their own personal touch. First up are Animal Picnic, who revisit two memorable tracks, Dahu’s ‘Ruin’ and Nick Devon’s ‘Don’t Be Afraid’.

Animal Picnic’s rendition of ‘Ruin’ maintains a perpetual vibe, which is derived directly from the original. Right from the get go, the bass line settles into an unyielding rhythm, bountiful of techno grooves and tough percussion. The breakdown then allows for the underlying melody to briefly shine through, before succumbing to its previous momentum.

Splicing the old with the new, this version of ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ establishes a more subtle build of intensity. The mood is set with an eerie presence and heightened with severe yet passionate chord changes that embellish the entire track. The echoing vocals from Benji also empower this remix, ascertaining an audio delight of malicious beauty.

Steyoyoke’s Family Affair series returns to mark its 6th release to date. The second half of this double release features remixes by Steyoyoke core producers Soul Button, Dahu and Nick Devon.
 
Dahu’s startling opener packs a tremendous punch. His rendition of Nick Devon’s ‘Devotion’ features a pulsating landscape of submerged arps and distorted bass controlled by a brutally efficient groove.
 
Nick Devon returns the favour by applying his talents to Dahu’s ‘Never’. A hectic smattering of percussions and toms set the scene for this aesthetic piece of throbbing techno as ethereal synths weave in and out taking the listener on a spectral journey through Neverland.

Soul Button delivers his second contribution to Family Affair 6 with his Aurora Remix for Clawz SG’s ‘Solace’. An inventive groove full of tambourines and shakers merges with blissful melodies providing a soothing contrast within the EP.
 
Finally, Nick Devon offers one for the soul in his Ambient Remix of Dahu’s ‘Never’. Building on the soul touching keys of the original, Nick Devon elevates the track to astral heights, displaying the more remote corners of his stunning auditory spectrum.
 
Steyoyoke’s 6th edition of the Family Affair project is a jack of all trades, boasting melodic soundscapes and explosive floor fillers alike.

Nun hat er einen neuen Track produziert: „Shah Parvaz“. In den ersten Teilen der Nummer hört man ein Kanun und gegen Ende die orientalische Flöte Nay. (...) The style of the French duo Karmaa & Sophonic contributes a genuine electronic language to Traum.

Karmaa is a multifaceted artist who is known for his crossover project PRO7 bringing together electro, punk and disco. Karmaa is a new identity of this talented producer from Toulouse. His music can be described as an ambitious project of ethereal and deep tracks tinged with analog and ethnic influences. His music is unexpectedly poetic and leads us into an organic and synthetic world. His first EP "Black Curse" reached the top of the Beatport charts and was supported by famous artist like Popof, Boris Brejcha or Blancah.
Karmaa provides a new experience to live on a dance-floor.

Leader of Toulouse electronic scene, Sophonic has multiplied his influence and diversified his roles during the last 10 years. He is founding member of Difuzion, creator of How To Kill The party events and head of ChampCaine records. He is know for his eclecticism and his facility to mix all music genres. Now focused on production, he unveiled several projects recently including this fine collaboration with Karmaa.

Karmaa & Sophonic drive us into an unexpected universe combining deep house and indie dance into a successful and forceful collaboration. "Aquarius" as its name implies, is a journey of the ocean: a steady pace, a mysterious siren song, including analogue keyboards. All referring to the ocean discipline.

"Lies" is more urban: an 80s sample announces an electronic vibe with powerful stabs and a complete voice processing. Sharpened synths keep the audience hooked until the end of the track which will delight old school lovers as well as new school ones.

Remixes come from well known French artist including Citizen Kain, Madben and Matt Minimal.
Citizen Kain is well known for his releases on Suara, Stil Vor Talent, Beatfreak Recordings and on our labels Trapez ltd and MBF. He often makes it into the top 10 on Beatport and is played by Tale Of Us. His remix of "Lies" for Karmaa & Sophonic is based on mighty chord stabs that reinvigorate glorious rave days with an impressive impact that he can call his own.

Madben is known for his releases on Ellum, Bedrock, Off Recordings and Suara. He is regarded as a guardian of the spirit of rave and has put his hands on "Aquarius". Instant transformation and deconstruction into a Hi-NRG piece of techno has been the result. Mad acceleration and explosiveness at its best create a great rave steaming engine. Matt Minimal has the support from artists such as Umek, Mark Knight, Dubfire, Joseph Capriati and many more. His music has been described as described as powerful, metal sounding and groovy.
Matt Minimals remix of "Aquarius" is the most classic and the most minimal of the remix package and should appeal to that fanbase very much.
