I love this song very much, and am overdue to share it :) It was inspired by a bold and brilliant essay Bertrand Russell wrote in 1929 (and for fool disclosure, Bertrand is my all-time favorite philosopher, and was also a renowned mathematician; if you're curious, I recommend you check out "The Conquest of Happiness"). His essay aims to answer a question I've asked myself for as long as I can remember, an important one: “Has Religion Contributed Anything Useful to Civilization?” 

His answer? Not really—and certainly not uniquely.... long story short, here's what he concludes:
* Compassion doesn’t require dogma.
* Progress thrives on questions, not creeds.
* Morality rooted in obedience is not morality—it’s fear in disguise.

He believed humanity could find meaning, ethics, and joy through reason, science, and humanism—no gods or thrones required. This song echoes that spirit: a love letter to curiosity, courage, and clarity. A little irreverent, a lot sincere.
