It was 25 years ago that De La Soul released their classic sophomore LP 'De La Soul Is Dead', challenging the hippy label that followed the group after the success of their groundbreaking debut '3 Feet High & Rising'. 

To celebrate the anniversary of such a remarkable album, our buddy Chris Read has put together this dope mixtape featuring original sample material, remixes and album cuts.

Their own words on the mix
"The Mix contains two tracks of the Public Possession Label, which is also our favourite record shop in Munich. We also wanted to show some love for our friends Rhode & Brown, because they recently started their own label Slam City Jams with a fantastic EP. Our personal highlight on the recording is propably It's A Fine Line- Woman. We've discovered this jam earlier this year and played it ever since. Pretty rare/underappreciated record and works great on the dancefloor."

“We recorded this mix at 6am before heading down for a gig in Bristol. Similar to our DJ sets in a club, it's not really one genre it's just a collection of stuff we enjoy dancing & listening to. Records we've been listening to that week and older ones that pop into our heads at intervals during the week leading up to recording the mix. We start off with some house records focussing on the percussive side of things then moving into some spacey electro & slightly harder stuff. This was a lot of fun to record and felt really smooth in terms of the progression of tempo and energy. We hope people enjoy it wherever or however they listen to it.”
