Whereas ‘Flippant’ was most definitely an ode to his love of authentic acid house, ‘Apricity’ shows off his melodic side with it’s arptastic lead synth doing most of the damage atop a pulsating bass and roof raising arrangement.

It feels like with every release Jannowitz records is bringing more and more Brazilian heroes over to Germany. This time, we present the very special couple Flow & Zeo and their first ever JAW EP "Schwarze Katze". Both have been making music since the late 90s and have worked together for over 10 years now. On a regular basis you can catch them play at Brazil's infamous Warung Beach Club – one of the hottest clubs in the world. For "Schwarze Katze EP" they put their latin grooviness into an ground shaking club banger that you will be hearing everywhere you go. And if you're not that much into the harder bass lines, well, Flow & Zeo wouldn't be the diverse producers they are if they didn't have a special house mix of Schwarze Katze in their pocket. Perfect for summery vibes in cold winter months.
As to the remixes on our newest EP, we brought together an international mix of Jannowitz' favourite producers. Brazilian compatriot Eudi picked up the atmospheric synths of "Schwarze Katze" and combined them with progressive beats and claps that will spiral you into another dimension. 
We're very happy to welcome our second remixer to Jannowitz records: Swiss DJ Khainz who has released hits on Marcus Meinhardt's label Heinz Music and Popof's Form Music – just to name two of the numerous imprints that you can find him on. He added a melody to "Schwarze Katze" that we're sure will be stuck in your head for the next 12 months – no doubt! And last but not least – Indian rising star Diatonik who had just released his own JAW-EP a few weeks ago with a version of the track that creates a whole new vibe - fresh, danceable and 100 percent Jannowitz-style.

Berlin-based Michael Knop is the man behind the Distale moniker - a name that had fast become synonymous with pumping, emphatic house and techno. This three tracker for Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds label showcases exactly what Distale is about. 'Exe' is a moody tech house bomb with a huge drop towards the end, built up through tight drum programming and knack of controlling the space within the track. 'Control One' is a shade tougher, edging towards straight up techno. Its pure warehouse vibes - a sick rhythm track augmented with industrial, metallic percussive elements and rising stabs. 'Mindset' rounds off the trio - another slick and steely take on the dancefloor, slowly developing in to a drama filled cut perfect for the very late nights.

Renaissance Records welcome back one of Brazil’s brightest talents, BLANCAh, following last year’s acclaimed ‘Cold Lights’. Released on 6 March, ‘Walk In Clouds’ marks the start of a very personal and incredibly special project as it’s the first single to be taken from her forthcoming album, ‘Arias Of Sky’. 

“Renaissance asked what track I wanted to release first,” explains BLANCAh, “when people eventually hear the album I think they’ll be surprised, because the version of ‘Walk In Clouds’ on there is a bit slower, it’s a lot more haunting with a tinge of melancholy. So, probably not the most immediate choice, but certainly a very interesting one! With these versions we wanted to do something different; something that’s directly aimed at the dancefloor.”

To call the resulting mixes ‘aimed’ is arguably an understatement. Targeted with the precision of a cruise missile is more appropriate, especially when you have the wherewithal to reinforce the armory by bringing in the likes of Fur Coat for a South American mix-off!

Fur Coat said: “It was great to remix this track from BLANCAh, we realised she was from Brazil after we got the music in our hands. When we heard the track, we knew straight away which elements to use, like her vocals and the pads, so we could turn it into something more club friendly and give it our stamp.”
