‘Hey Human’ is that kind of song that has the power to break us in half, that plays puppet with our mind, and condemns us to never forget it. The track, produced by Vallent featuring Sarria on the vocal, was released originally by Prisma Techno in January 2020 as part of the traditional VA Evolution and quickly became a big success on the sales platforms, reaching the top 33 overall techno on Beatport. 

Now, Prisma Techno has put together an impressive remix EP, bringing together some of today's top Brazilian producers. Andre Salata, Binaryh, Chappier, deGust and Paulo Foltz bring us to five new versions of 'Hey Human', exploring different aspects of Techno and revealing many new directions from the original material, all highlighting Sarria's outstanding vocals.

If there is one person you can trust with leading you into a miraculous realm of care and good music, it is the Heinz Music label boss himself, Prof. Dr. master of soul-vibrations Marcus Meinhardt. He has steered the label-ship steadily during this difficult time. Again and again he has given us releases with beautiful melodies and worry-healing grooves. And now he is back with a big two-tracker himself, "Mars Attack EP".

The title track ignites the starting engine with a smooth and catchy groove, while a playful synth is luring behind the tree. It swiftly surrounds you, asking for your trust as it takes you on a little journey towards heavy basslines, quirky synths and an uplifting and dreamy atmosphere. The melody resonates with a newfound positivity and joy over us all being able to meet on dance floors again.

Secondly, we are lead into the world of "Venus Vibes" and you immediately feel weightless. As if you are floating on a cloud, with the stars just at the tip of your hand. Dark synth plucks meet a vivid melody carrying a space-like background of organic percussions and wicked up-winding noise. It is heavy yet encouraging, and the perfect companion to "Mars Attack". London-based John Monkman is the founder of Beesemyer Music but also serves up his rich sounds on Kompakt, Last Night On Earth and Drumcode. He works across multiple styles and as much as making music for the club, he also cooks up richly atmospheric and emotive music. 

He has worked with Pete Tong, Bryan Ferry and Nile Rodgers and when on tour, he plays live in the world's best venues. First up is the immediately arresting 'Perception' with its flashes of synth, whirring drones and textured drums. Spoken words bring a sense of paranoia as twitchy effects, icy percussion and swinging drums all work you into a frenzy. Monkman took inspiration from a Timothy Leary interview for the record envisioning “a phrase repeating with a synthesizer response, in essence a conversation between man & machine”. 

Second cut 'Impulse' is a more groove-driven tune with kicks that rock back and forth under slapping hits. The synth designs are futuristic and the whole vibe is one of intergalactic exploration of the unknown. Both of these hugely accomplished tracks will bring a scene of cinematic drama to any set.

From the downright dirty dancefloor bangers to the gentler melancholic tracks more suited to the day-after-the-nights before. 

Part 1 of the two-part compilation certainly stirs the pot. 
Stil vor Talent’s young guns Sam Shure and Cioz bring a dose of youthful sass to the mix, sprinkling in layers of texture to create a lively, organic vibe, setting the tone for the rest of the album. 

Swiss artist Kellerkind’s characteristic soulful house meets the collective enthusiasm of Township Rebellion to create ‘Bird Vision’, a slowly building, heavy-hitting cut which melts into high-tech aural sorcery.  

Adding a dash of her very own nu-rave vibes, Deer Jade takes us into a groove portal with the mystical melodies and spaced-out sound of ‘Let Go’. 

Rising star Yetti Meissner presents her first-ever release: ‘Nadir’. It’s deep, it’s dark and it’s safe to say that her energetic, gritty style of pure techno will shake the foundations.

Desert Hearts Black welcomes yet another legendary act into its fold today: Township Rebellion, who’ve graced the label with a heady new single titled ‘Mosaik.’ A secret set weapon for quite some time now, “Mosaik” is a cinematic addition to the duo’s discography—outfitted with a roaring, brass-centric hook and spacey synth harmonies surrounding it. A strong bassline and percussion section add fervor to the finished product.

The trek through the shadows doesn’t end with Township Rebellion’s original work. Four artists have been brought on for remix duties, the first being mau5trap and Yoshitoshi champion Rinzen, who beefed up the low end and tempo whilst creating even more tension during his breakdown. Desert Hearts Black owners Marbs and Evan Casey take the stage next, taking a minimal approach with their rendition of the original for a piece fit for sunrise. Finally, up-and-comer Victor Pilava enters from the left field with a slowed down, mystical interpretation. Much like its name, ‘Mosaik’ as a whole is a colorful, multifaceted collection of tracks.

Township Rebellion have maintained a stronghold over the melodic techno world through the year, clocking in milestone releases. Most recently, they made their debut on the RÜFÜS DU SOL-led imprint Rose Avenue with their dynamic ‘2020’ EP—inspired by current events. They also joined award-winning New York Times journalist Ian Urbina during the summer for for Storming The Thunder—inspired by Interpol’s hunt for the world’s most wanted poaching ship. These solo collections bookended various remixes and original tracks appearing on their regular home of Stil Vor Talent.

“Mosaik” is the penultimate release for Desert Hearts Black in 2020, closing out a memorable second year for the subsidiary label. They have continued to draw in A-list talent for their repertoire, with Dance Spirit, Rinzen, David Scuba, Vanita, and Anakim making their debuts—not to mention, Township Rebellion. After taking an otherwise tumultuous year in stride, fans can expect continued quality as Desert Hearts Black enters into the new year.

BEYOND NOW proudly welcomes SKALA to the label. Her Glimpse EP on BEYOND NOW interacts with the subject of time in an intense musical way: Moments go by hectically, driven by adrenaline, the atmosphere shimmers in ecstasy. En contraire the inner ticking, lost in time itself. The consitent ticking of the clock reminds of being existant and occures reality. The EP deals with the excerpts and moments of life in which time is relative and where each part differs in meaning. "Flimmer" and "The time traveler's watch" are tracks which couldn't be more contrary but overall fade together in the flow of time.

The labelhead of BEYOND NOW, MATCHY contributes his very own interpretation of time and space with an ecstatic remix.
