Melodicity and punch are the two main accents of Niko Schwind’s 'Mr. Plastik' EP.
'Over the Trees' unfolds with a floating groove, based around a thumping bassline with powerful percussion. Ultimately, Lil Magdalene’s delicate and ear-catching vocals make an appearance, balancing the grit of the instrumental with lush lyrics and building an entirely new dimension. Co-opted for the remix is label head Oliver Koletzki, who engages in a complete rework of the melody. Equally playful, but in turn minimalist and dramatic, a relentless synth groove directs the focus to the danceable elements. Uone joins Schwind on production duties for 'Mr. Plastik', a minimalist tribal groove with heavily processed vocals and distorted synths. One for the body, not the mind, which also comes in the form of German Brigante’s Sunday Morning remix. The vocal hook stays centered with added winding synths and eerie sound bites , making for a perfectly spacious Sunday Morning groove.

For the latest output on Lost, Max Chapman produces the goods once again, this time joined by upcoming Kieran Andrews for their inauguration collaboration. The Temperature EP is a straight up three-track compact dancefloor package. 

The lead track Temperature is a delightful slice of deep house with lingering bassy washes, jacking drum patterns topped off with a killer female vocal arrangement. The big drop and pressing vocals shine through for this melodic garage style anthem. 

Ten Twenty One is a much darker house vibe. With some deep hooks and synth patters sitting kindly with a tough bassline, completed with a cleverly spaced out furious vocal stab. Last but by no means least The Groove single is a more percussion heavy techy vibe with an unrelenting bassline and a driving vocal sample. 

This EP will go down a treat in the places that like things nice and deep…

Joris Voorn - Homeland Feat. Matthew Dear (&ME Remix)

Lighter than Waiting, the second track on the release is called "Easy." Centred round a held cord that rises to hold tension, a sparely used textured vocal washes over the mix and creates the impression of a large open space. Washed in stereo delay the hi-hats and melody part bounce from the left and fill the mix, whilst the ridged kick drum pounds to hold the groove of this epic monster.

Featuring heavily on most of Drumcode’s shows due to his impeccable DJ’ing, Bart Skils is back with a new EP flexing his signature rolling sound and hooks. Caressing from one track to another, the use of pads in this EP and using uneasy sounds to build tension in each track. The swelling bass within each track manoeuvres the tracks into dark after hour’s territory with the help of the subtle percussion.

With his last EP offering on Keinemusik, &ME displayed himself once again as supplier of anthems that easily reconcile style with general floor purpose. You would think, such an universal and inexhaustible tune as this very “After Dark” can only be a lucky hit. But no, he’s knocking out the classic material just like that. Another example? Catalog number KM028, his brandnew “Trilogy” EP.
The titletrack on A initially places a synth arpeggio behind a kick that in dryness is hardly to excel. The beat of "Trilogy" is then seasoned with rimshot patterns until the saturated bassdrum comes in and paves the way to the dancefloor. &ME even refines his knack for stoic grooves on this jam and once again shows his sure feeling for suitable vocal features. Sabotas croon comes devoid of big gestures and still knows the ropes to appeal to the collective mentality of a clubcrowd.
On the flipside, “Woods” is living up to its name from the very beginning. Woody percussions are thumping within an almost subtropical scenario that’s frequently pervaded by mighty synth clouds. And once again, there’s an arpeggio sneaking in that at some point is taking the lead in this strictly instrumental affair. Add a break building that will educe a floor’s complete euphoric potential without going for the rather mindless escalation and there you have it: a B-side that’s actually more of an A-competitor.

&ME - Trilogy feat. Sabota (KM028)

Alan Fitzpatrick makes a triumphant return to the scene-leading imprint this August. The typically bombastic three-tracker of explosive, crowd-moving techno opens with ‘Love Siren’ packed with all the power and punch required to knock over festival crowds as it systematically builds and drops, this is one for the big open air stages. ‘U Said U’ is a massively hyped track that has been the subject of huge fan-demand since it first featured on Beyer’s Drumcode Radio in January. ‘Rumours’ wraps things up in slightly more understated but non-the-less effective fashion with its drawn out, tension building intro mushrooming into a crescendo of sleazy chords and sparking melodies.
