Introducing himself to the Stil vor Talent fold with a small tour de force, Italian producer Qubiko lands his debut single 'Automatica' right on cue for springtime. All in elastic bounce and hair-raising tension, this inaugural two-tracker was born from the need to give up on boundaries and the usual beacons attached to a specific genre: "I had no brakes, I had no preconceptions or superstructures that often make me see things in only one direction" says Qubiko, whose mindset for the release was to "have no mindset".

The lead single, 'Automatica' pushes in various directions to serve up its own hypnotic blender of steely techno-house chug, batucada rhythms and further funk-infused syncopated swagger. A chiselled piece of cold sonic alloy boiled up to a climax, it runs the gamut from no-nonsense, post-industrial boogie down to future-facing disco-ism. More of an heavy-lidded churner, 'Se Lei' has us surfing the edge between Afro-infused polyrhythmic oneirism, EBM-ish horsepower and eerie, esoteric synth house, cranking the heat up a notch with every bar as we glide deeper and deeper in a state of blissed-out amazement.
