“Let it Burn” is the first single taken from music-savvy AFFKT’s upcoming new “The Big Picture” studio album set to be released later this summer via Mobilee. For this first advance, AFFKT joins forces and creativity once again with Sutja Gutierrez (The Fruhstucks band) as a vocal guest.

New AFFKT’s album will bring together all the best feelings and elements of the Spanish producer creativity into one cohesive release. New concepts and styles to deliver everyone some of the energy that needs to be released after a forced pause. ‘The Big Picture’ will be probably his most expansive and multifaceted electronic-driven album to date.

And, to show something, here is “Let it Burn” where the Spanish music-producer melts with efficiency edgy-techno, indie dance and new wave sounds. The track leads the listener directly into the sonic universe and experience the album is. New concepts and styles to deliver everyone some of the energy that needs to be released after a forced pause. 

“'Let it burn' is one of the first songs that came out of the new album so it is carefully and slow-simmered cooked, a composition where I tried to create a balance of styles and stay halfway through Indie and Eletroclash, music genres that influenced me a lot when I started making music in the mid / late 90s” AFFKT attests. “Personally, I feel it as one of the most complete songs I ever did along my good friend and favourite vocalist Sutja Gutiérrez; it is a direct song which seeks simplicity and perfect forms. His Lyrics fit perfectly fine with the album concept, they are somewhere between light and dark, but definitely optimistic.” 

Last but not least, “Let it Burn” EP includes a remix of the single by Santiago Garcia as well as a dub version.

A case of outer spatial melancholy, “Longing” starts off as a slo-hatching roller that aims for nothing but the vastness of greater summits. Reeling out in sustained glissandos and cascades of iridescent synth shades, the track guzzles us in a vortex of wistful grace. “Bridges and Walls” calls in further dynamic waves of keyboard jitter and multi-level machine talk, delayed arpeggios and dubbed-out bleeps blazing from the deeper end up to the sleek surface of its vivid synth tapestries with unrestrained ease.

“Off-Piste” moves the cursor back to a more inward-gazing kind of headspace with its dream pop-inherited buildup, unrelenting swing and laid-back pads oozing a most idyllic late summer vibe. Tracing further downbeat motifs onto a wide-screen electronica lay-out, “In My Head” melds the brittleness of piano with the thunderous power of a bassy storm to come, perfect for when the after needs a bit of a groove tightening without jeopardising its smooth, frictionless raison d’être.

Breaking the EP in, the title track puts forth a cold and frothing EBM signature. Built around pared-down samba-like syncopations and gridlocked drum architectonics, the track lays maximal emphasis on fluctuating layers of raucous machine spurts and sizzling portamentos geared to set the sound system’s circuits ablaze. 

“Protocol” then swerves onto further epic Italoid territories with warehouse-sized ambition, arpeggiated synths and piano stabs merging into an iridescent symphony of sorts, before “Truth” takes an unsuspected U-turn towards breaksy atmospherism and sleek, RnB-laced soulfulness. The perfect departure tune to an EP that finds Fussman showcasing the impressive breadth of his artistic palette.
