What a night! Our first resident night at the one and only Monarch Berlin Club (24.9.) after the 18 months Corona break was a very special moment for me. It is the vibe of the TSTD Monarch crowd, that i missed most during those shitty times. Thanks to everybody who came out to smile and dance (slowly)with us!

Fran Deeper (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) is, without a doubt, one of the most important references of the House / Nu-Disco scene. He's the owner of the prestigious record label Spa in Disco, which has published more than 100 titles in digital format. Some of them have reached the number one position on the sales charts, while many others have been repeatedly featured in the Top 100 of the most important digital platforms like Junodownload, Beatport, or Traxsource.

His extensive musical career and Nu-Disco Underground with electronic touch style has opened him the doors to some of the most prestigious DJ booths all over the world: Madrid, Mexico City, Ibiza, Tulum, London, Guadalajara, Berlin, San Francisco, Marseille, Jakarta, Barcelona, Milan, Stockholm or Bali, to name a few.

In all of them, he's shared the stage with some of the most important global representatives of the style like Pete Herbert, Rayko, Thomass Jackson, Ilya Santana, or Ray Mang, making him a veteran of the dance floors.
Thanks to his long career, he's also collaborated with some of the most well-known international record labels like Midnight Riot, Rare Wiri, NDYD, Spirit Soul Records, Love Harder Records, or Hot Digits. Besides, he's also collaborated with some of the top blogs like 'Music is 4 Lovers', 'Gouranga,' 'Le Visiteur,' 'Deep House Moscow,' 'Red Bull,' 'The London Disco Society' and even radios like 'Vibes Radio,' 'The Basement Radio,' and currently on a weekly program for the prestigious 'Ibiza Global Radio.'

I wish there were more places on earth where clubbing crowds are open minded enough to dance like crazy to this kind of set. It took place on Saturday morning, playing into the sunrise of the Cosmic Stage in Chemnitz/Germany. All improvised and inspired by all the other outstanding dj sets that I have the chance to witness yearly at this very sacred spot called Cosmic Gathering/Camp Cosmic. I'm very grateful to be part of this ever inspiring community like no other. After 5 years it's the first time the recording of my set actually succeeded so I'm excited to share it with you, full of errors, fx overdosing, much laughter and crazy dancin'. Originally from Bermuda, the now Bay Area-based producer Russell E.L Butler has spent the last eight years in Oakland decolonizing their music process through a method of improvisation and empathic intuition, all the while taking influence from the culture of the island and the black, queer diaspora. Their music and work, often steeped with themes and connotations of spirituality, healing and literature has been met to much acclaim, with their 'God Is Change' EP from three years ago being a perfect starting point for those only just being introduced to Russell's work. The EP, charted the story of Lauren Olamina, a queer, black woman who discovers her own religion, Earth Seed, during a dystopic period in the not too distant future. Since 2014, their music under their own name has found its way to other labels such as Opal Tapes, Jacktone, Black Opal and more recently CGI Records with their 'Dropping Out Of Life' EP, a record described as commitment to life after experiencing the harrowing events of the Ghost Ship fire from last year. We caught up with Russell to discuss their Bermuda influences, their current live set and the frustrations and contradictions of being a person of colour living in Oakland.
