Stefan West is a singer-songwriter from Geelong, Australia, whose debut album Just Another Sunflower Searching for the Sun showcases a blend of punk-rock spirit and folk storytelling. With a gentle, poetic soul and a confident rock-and-roll heart, West crafts songs that balance intensity with heartfelt warmth. Drawing on influences ranging from Blink-182, The Killers, and Death Cab for Cutie to storytellers like Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan, he fuses pop-punk’s high-voltage energy with folk’s honest lyricism into a sound entirely his own .

West doesn’t shy away from life’s shadows, laying bare his struggles with addiction and self-discovery, yet always emerging with a glimmer of hope. Each song is a testament to human connection and the journey of being alive. West delivers them with intensity – shifting from a confessional whisper to a stadium roar. He turns personal pain into purpose, crafting songs that shine a light in the dark, reminding others they’re not alone .

He picked up his first guitar in childhood and by his teens was playing in local punk bands. That dedication led him to front the Melbourne rock outfit The Velvet Addiction, where he toured internationally  and scored airplay on Triple M and MTV . Now, as a solo artist, West channels that journey into songs that soar with gritty energy and soulful poetry, creating music that’s both energetic and heartfelt – a cathartic ride.
