Nick Holder is a DJ & producer from Toronto, Canada and the owner of DNH Records.  One of the most respected producers in the history of underground house music, Holder’s recordings span a sound range from deep disco vibes, to minimal Chicago-style house.  Some of his early influences came from the late 80’s, when he discovered the burgeoning Detroit techno scene only a few hours away from his home in Toronto.  Detroit icons like Derrick May and Carl Craig captivated Holder, as did many of the tracks coming from Chicago during the same late-’80s period by producers like Adonis.

In the ‘90s, Holder began producing his own tracks and released 12”s for a number of labels like Definitive, Stickmen, his own imprint DNH, and !K7 (which released his first two full-length albums One Night in the Disco, and Back On Track).  Furthermore, Holder released many of his productions through NRK Sound Division, including many of his biggest hits such as "I Once Believed in U", "Trying to Find Myself" and ”Da Sambafrique", in addition to full-length efforts From Within, Underground Alternatives, and The Other Side. 

Upcoming in 2016, look out for numerous releases on his label DNH under both Holder’s own name, as well as his Trackheadz alias.  Nick has also recently launched his own radio show DEEP SECTION, which is broadcast every Wednesday night at 8-10pm EST on VIBE 105.5 in Toronto and online at www.vibe1055.com.

Kúmbale is a German-based independent music platform. The two musicians in charge are DJ and Producer René Gamez aka Skruper Sounds / SSDSS (Mexico /Global Bass Berlin) and Pocho Gonzalez aka DJ Gonzalez (Electropical Munich). „Our mission is to serve as an underground runway between Latin America and Europe. We want to spread our friends' and colleagues' creations. That means we want to support our more established colleagues entering Germany, and offer maximum promotion to the newcomers,” says DJ Gonzalez. What started as a pun – “Cumbia Mapalé = Kumbale” – evolved into a sound system that is right now focusing on publishing compilations. It aims at broadening its activities, starting with music including more forms of latin and “sudaka” arts as a cultural movement. Why? Because we love what is going on at home in our countries and we don't want the party to stop. This is an open invitation to all Djs, Djanes, producers, musicians and bloggers to walk this path together with us. When there is turmoil between north and south things have to move on.

Organisiert wird sie von DJ und Produzent René Gamez aka Skruper Sounds / SSDSS (México /Global Bass Berlin) und Pocho Gonzalez aka DJ Gonzalez (Electropical Munich). “Unsere Mission ist es eine illegale Landebahn zu bieten, zwischen Lateinamerika und Europa. Wir wollen verbreiten, was unsere Freunde und Kollegen kreieren, den etablierten Künstlern Präsens in Deutschland ermöglichen und den Newcomern die beste Promo.“ sagt Dj Gonzalez. Was als Wortspiel begann - „Cumbia Mapalé = Kúmbale“ - entwickelte sich zu einem soundsystem, dass mittlerweile Compilations veröffentlicht. Wenn die Beteiligung groß genug ist, kann Kumbale zu einem colectivo cultural werden, und dann nicht nur Musik promoten, sondern auch Latin und „Sudaka“ Kunst. Denn wir sind verrückt danach, was bei uns zu Hause abgeht, und die Party soll kein Ende nehmen. Wir laden alle Djs Djanes, Produzenten, Musiker und Blogger dazu ein, zusammen mit uns diesen Weg zu gehen. Wenn Norden und Süden aufeinander prallen, muss etwas passieren.
