Ari Roar - Implode

This piece was created as a eulogy for Puddy, a cat of mine who was just recently put down after the discovery that she had terminal stomach cancer. The title refers to a fact I learned about the death of one of my Grandmother's cats. After Nora (the cat in question) died, the other cats who had lived downstairs with my Grandmother (Puddy among them) were seen looking into all these weird places. After a while my Grandmother concluded that they were looking for Nora, trying to figure out where she had gone. Eventually they stopped.

As I was recording this piece, my main influences were Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Gerogerigegege's Hell Driver, and Navicon Torture Technologies. Created using screwdriver on a guitar tuned to open D minor (DADFAD), an electric toothbrush placed against the strings of that same guitar in E standard, and a gently pulsing synth drone in E. All recorded Direct Input into Cakewalk by Bandlab using a Behringer DI box, where I added amp simulation and additional effects as well as mixing.
