Rain On A Distant World

Inspired by the Soviet war drama directed by Elem Klimov. 

The composition consists of three parts, marked on the timeline:
I.   Dread...............0:00
II.  Terror..............3:58
III. Sorrow...........6:39

7/4 and 5/4 time signatures.

The film is little known, but it is considered one of the greatest masterpieces of world cinema. Like the movie, my piece tries to deal with the theme of war as seen by a lost individual. The military action and all the horrors associated with it appear here as a murderous and enormous machine, which is unstoppable...

The title of the film derives from Chapter 6 of the Book of Revelation:

"And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say," Come and see! "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."
