‘Night Owl’ is the brand new track from Metronomy which has come from their brand new album ‘Summer 08’. Frontman Joseph Mount explained that Metronomy’s latest album is a sequel to 2008’s ‘Nights Out’ which he described as “a half-arsed concept album about going out and having a crap time”. The track is an evocative OMD-pop track with a lot of filler and plenty of catchy beats which makes it so danceable. There’s a groovy bass line, a classic dance drum pattern and some spacey synths dotted throughout.

“This track always sounded like the euphoria of rebellion to me - the mixture of intensity and then the release of it. When Field Stars got involved the lyrics became about running away and escaping, and to me it began to sound like it should be the soundtrack one of the great John Hughes teenage-rite-of-passage films from the 80's. I put together the video as a bit of a love-letter to those films.”
