Multidisciplinary Moroccan artist NAJIB ب ي ج ن , currently based in Brussels is interested in genres that bring "chaos" - by using a variety of rhythms permeating different cultures and confronting them with each other. In his music, he aims to formate a stability in chaos and creates a dystopic vision of his world, allowing a continuous questioning of himself. Glitchy, multi-textured sounds and deconstructed music elements are always present in NAJIB's compositions.

Continuing his very personal brand of modern noise music, this chapter contains total annihilation, fragmented and broken imperfect glimpses of violated structures. Brutal vocals muse on post-modern social and human drama - reaching droning undertones and convoluted distortions in an experimental yet coherent path full of corrosive but engrossing elements of despair.

It has been two years since the first compilation on the Various Artists series (PEVA) of Pi Electronics and the concept has stayed true to its aim: to present a coherent selection of the label’s favourite collaborators from the roster and parties over the years. Bringing together Greek and international artists, this compilation opens with a 10 minute recording by the combined forces of Orphx and JK Flesh (Justin Broadrick), from a live performance recorded in Amsterdam. Meanwhile we also showcase the resurfacing of Vofa, the joint project of producers Sawf and ANFS. There is a variety of options in this 13 tracks release; from the raw and harsh textures of An-i and New Frames, to Lycurgus live drum set recordings, Kondaktor’s African percussive electronics and Sarin’s EBM infused techno. Some more techno interpretations, such as the hypnotic moods of Stave and Fragedis, or the more punchy sounds of Restive Plaggona and Poison Green. These shape the full picture of this second Pi Electronics compilation titled ‘Divide & Rule’.

This compilation was made by beautiful humans from all around the world. It is a collection of 11 varied tracks. It is noisy, experimental, sometimes brutal, with choir, different languages, vocals, piano and drums... While the tracks are all different, they are united by the fight against domestic violence.

As you may know, this pandemic is a nightmare for women facing domestic and sexual abuse. In many situations they have been forced into lockdown with their abuser.

The money raised on Bandcamp will go to La Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes, a French charity helping women in distress. Please consider buying this release if you appreciate it and spread the word about the current situation.
