More hat tips to Irish folklore here. Reading up on the Yamnaya culture and how the spread of modern culture may be rooted in years much further back then history currently suggests. Its also showing fairly cool links between Ukraine and Ireland which is whats keeping me digging...

The Myth
The Tuatha Dé Danann were the God tribes of Skill and they defeated the Formorians whom were the evil gods. Apparently first written about by early Christians I was perusing how they came to that conclusion. Maybe it was this... A more evolved society that they came across. A godlike society. I'm sure it would have been easy to mistake incredibly advanced human beings with gods...🤷🏽
I also listened to one mythologist talk about a period of peace and tranquility after this battle..
 So in the face of all the fire it was nice to imagine that happened before and bring in that ⚡
So maybe the Christian texts are naive stories about old wars. And the Gods of Skill won and we found peace for a while. Yes please
