Eric Becker, born Eric Davis to Yolanda Harrison of Niagara Falls, was given up to Social Services by 1 years old, adopted by 4. Yolanda pursued the music industry and sang back-up for Kelly Price. She also turned down a record deal with LaFace Records. It wasn't until Eric was 13 when he started recording his own music, pressing up his own tapes and CD's, often recording in the school halls. 

Eric "Problem Child" Becker recorded WANTED Dead or Alive, a 2005 mixtape in a rush attempt because he was looking at 5-25 year robbery in the first charge. The charges were dropped because there was no evidence tying "Prob" to the case. He was guilty by association. His legal issues didn't end there, often finding himself at the wrong place, wrong time, which he used to fuel his energy. It was around 2006 when Problem Child started attracting attention from the industry on Myspace from artists like Cassie, Collie Buddz, Lionel Richie, Mysonne, comedian Gabriel Iglesius, and J. Holiday. Mysonne and his management went as far as sending Prob his unreleased mixtape when he was fresh out of prison, as well as providing an opportunity to open up for Patti LaBelle but turned it down due to his legal issues and restrictions of travel with his five year probation term. Around this time Prob started linking up with more local and international artists, models, producers, promoters, radioheads, and NFL/NHL athletes. Rapper "Lebanon" and "Lady K" of 93.7 WBLK provided opportunities to do shows in Buffalo. Problem Child was with a local Niagara Falls rap group called Split Team for a few years, a group which consisted of Joe Streetz, Casiem, Explicit, and Gifted but he parted ways with the group in 2006-07. The streets were beginning to catch up to the people around him. Prob narrowly escaped several violent attempts on his life, in addition to some of his closest friends being locked up or killed. It was time for a change.

Eric enrolled into school and received his Associates of Computer Aided Drafting & Design from ITT Tech in 2008. Eric received his Bachelors of Science in Visual Arts at the SUNY Empire State College in 2010. Eric received his Master of Architecture from the University at Buffalo in 2015. These eight years of training honed Eric's business acumen, quickly developing websites, cellular apps, novels, poems, luxury shoe designs, architectural designs, etc. Eric began public speaking to at-risk teens at the LaSalle Prep Middle School and the Niagara Falls Senior High School with Reverend/Blackbelt Master Bob Heisner of Project Future WNY, producer/Niagara Falls "Keys to the City" Recipient TuneZ Wilson, retired Veteran/Actor Matt Daniels, and Hip-Hop artist Coach. 

Around 2010 the formerly known Problem Child took on the name "Poetry," in an attempt to stray from a negative persona. "Poe" began recording "A Diamond in the Dirt," an independent EP under the direction of T-Roc who was a songwriter for Bad Boy Records and later J Records/3rd St Records. "T-Roc" saw an untapped potential so he provided hundreds of industry beats produced by "Lazi" of Universal Music Group and "Midnite." Poe was able to lock in features of Rachel Palumbo, AK Reed, T-Roc, Quiet Boy, Get 'Em, Wenzday Atemz, and Ben Franklin but the project was never released due to Eric's hectic Master of Architecture degree. 

Poetry fell back from the music industry for a few years after finding placements on 93.7 WBLK and potential placements with Kiss 98.5 through DJ Supreme, DJ Anthony, Lady K, Nicholas Picholas, and DJ RanKann but he could not release his music with Universal Music Group. Before Poetry's hiatus he appeared in AK Reed Films' "Bartenders: The Movie" which starred AK Reed and Jess Classic. This provided an opportunity for Poetry to be signed with Heavy Early Entertainment under Jess Classic.

As of early 2017, Poetry is back recording with "T-Roc" for an independent EP production deal. Stay tuned...
