Day Dreamin' is an original song written by one of my "mentors". An excellent guitarist by the name of Henry Sapp. Henry was a "hybrid-style" finger-picker and backed or sat in with various noted names within the country music industry in the 50's and 60's. He did a bit of studio work, but his favorite playing was done as the title of his ONLY CD explains... "Back Porch Pickin' ".

This another original composition of Henry Sapp. Although a lot of attention to harmonic playing is associated to later players, there was a style of it coming around in the 50's at which time it was done a bit differently and was called "CHIMING" Here Henry does a version of his original composition featuring the technique... the song he titled "Tear Drop". A 1949 hit written by Eddy Arnold, Steve Nelson and Ed Nelson, Jr. and first performed by Eddy Arnold. The Eddy Arnold version went to number one on the Country & Western Best Seller Lists for four weeks. This is a version by Pat Sapp... the audio quality is somewhat aged... it is a transfer from a record to a reel to reel to an mp3. The lead guitarist here is Henry Sapp. I do not know who else was in this band but will update that info next time I speak w/Pat :)

08 I'm Just An Old Lump Of Coal[Cover] by Henry Sapp

This an early 70's release written and performed by Pat Sapp. Pat Sapp... was born in Casa Grande, Arizona. In and about 1972 Bar-Mac Records sprang out of a jam session process in Smyrna, Georgia, The local Music Mart was a place most of the local talent and some distant talent gathered and exchanged ideas and creations. In this recording Pat's husband Henry was the lead guitarist. This song was on various independent charts throughout the south at the time... holding the position in some regions for several weeks. I hope you enjoy this presentation :) [This info was obtained through a phone conversation with Pat].
