“Love Jones” captures souls with her soft and smooth vocal tones. Born and raised in Boston, MA; her musical influence from her father and discovery of her talent, lead her to explore music in different areas. Reggae, Jazz and R&B influences have been her main persuasion; introduced to her a very early age. Her affinity for Reggae & other Caribbean music was catapulted by the Jamaican culture and influence of her maternal side, and legends of reggae music. As a preteen; Love, like most young teens, formed a group with others in hopes for a successful future on the music scene. Even though this didn't ever resolved into such, Love continued to submerge herself into musical environments, any chance given. Coming from a “melting pot”, such as, Massachusetts; Love was able to explore her passion for music and ability, in different genres, as well as, languages. She has a great positive regard for music of different cultures i.e., Hispanic and Cape Verdean ones. As she grew older she landed upon musical opportunities in the local areas of Boston(first recorded project- “So Close”, on Women in Love, a Cape Verdean Zouk project from MR Productions.) Her desire to continue pursuing music grew stronger and her dream started to come true. Even though it was not yet on the big screen, this accomplishment was the commencement of making her mark on the scene. She has worked with artists such as Nomad-I, 4Ever Green & the IRS Reggae Band, all of Boston. Love’s musical influences span from Mary J. Blige to Lura; from Beres Hammond to As Bombas Do Samba. She has found vast love and inspiration throughout them all, and solely wants to make her addition and through music, share love. Finally, pursuing a quest she started when she was only 13. Ms. Jones has exercised her talents and is ready to explore the lengths of her talent and dream. Love has also recorded, unreleased Reggae and traditional Cape Verdean music projects; hopefully to be available soon.
