Downplay is proud to welcome Birmingham-based producer BWK Project to the label for his brand new single, “Steppin”.

‘Steppin’ is a stripped-back 2-step groove that evokes the classic era of garage with a modern flavour. Perfectly placed percussion envelops chest-rattling sub-bass stabs for a heads-down club bubbler.

On the digital flip, label mate Phonetix deploys that classic organ bass sound to devastating effect on an absolute thriller of a reinterpretation that will be an early contender for UKG remix of 2022.

Espree is an up and coming bass music DJ/Producer hailing from the infamous Bristol, who’s drive within the club scene has been getting attention from record labels throughout the UK due to his fresh and versatile style with an eclectic twist fused into his productions. 

With a Mixmag feature and multiple radio appearances, he’s catching the attention of some heavyweight artists in the scene such as: Skepsis, Shift K3Y & Sammy Virji as well as KISS FM radio presenters Charlie Tee & Billy Da Kid. 

His latest productions have been energetic and powerful with tasteful underground twists. He is currently working on a huge amount of new original material while still finding the time to handpick tracks to remix into a whole new vibe of his own. After being picked up for a '100% Production Mix' on the legendary Rinse FM, Espree has began to also catch the eye of a few other major-player record labels.  Judging by the amount of unreleased music that he has stacking up, it seems that he has no intention of doing anything other than working full force to imprint his name on the scene and will no doubt be pushing into the upcoming underground artists roster; an artist not to be underestimated.
