Keeping things fresh, Needwant welcomes rising star, Mr. Sosa for his first release on the label.

Jumping straight into the action, Bournemouth-based producer instantly delivers with infectious house pads and chopped vocals which tees up a ravey breakbeat section. Packing a lot in without feeling forced, ‘True’ boasts many elements including euphoric trancey synths which weave in and out of the melodic vocal hook.

Over the last two years, Mr. Sosa has made a name for himself both in the studio and behind the decks, renowned for chunky acid and catchy chords. British duo My Friend make a bold return to Anjunadeep with their four-track ‘Lager Beers’ EP. After hurtling onto the scene in 2018, the duo have since been named Danny Howard’s ‘Future Fire’ and gone on to release on labels including Fly Boy Records and W&O Street Tracks. They have also garnered support from popular electronic artists including Lane 8, Icarus and Jody Wisternoff.

Title track ‘Lager Beers’ first appeared on the label’s Anjunadeep 12 compilation, where it stood out for its punchy bassline and hard-hitting drums. Second offering ‘Heyoka’ marks the duo’s second collaboration with British singer-songwriter Lauren L’aimant, following on from ‘January Embers’, released on sister label Anjunabeats in 2018. My Friend round off the ‘Lager Beers EP’ with melodic offerings ‘Gotta Have You’ (with Osolot), and ‘True Romance’.

The Berlin-based producer, DJ, label head and rising talent Haider Masroor’s music is informed by perpetual motion and a deep-rooted passion for dance music in all its forms. On his latest EP ‘The Muses Come Out At Night’ Haider pieces together a diverse range of influences that highlights his versatility, virtuosity and effortlessly cool flair.

Opener ‘Bakamono’ is a soaring, blissful slice of after-hours house with ghostly vocals that conjure classic Detroit sounds with padded synth washes and an irresistible groove; a unique and glistening revamp on a classic style.

The straight up acid and electro blazer ‘The Oven Door Broke’ offers up a full-bodied synth line with airtight hi-hats topped with stuttered bass; a headfirst dive into Haider’s supremely honed peak time energy.

‘U Trippin’, as the title suggest, is a more intoxicated piece where a diverse range of styles coalesce; deep bass sine hits glide under woozy, reversed vocal chops and aphex style breaks.
