The inimitable T. Williams and James Jacob are back on our block with a fine brace of bangers to follow 2016’s The Point EP. Once again the pair’s production pedigree and ear for a good groove is in full effect as showcased by their previous collaborations on T’s Today Tomorrow Records and Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse imprint. 
The Learning Process drafts in Tim Deluxe, the man behind monsters by Double 99, RIP Productions and crossover hit It Just Won’t Do, who reveals a new depth to his abilities as he lays down the core of the track with a classic jazz-funk tinged piano riff.  Counterpart Call It In is the yang to the yin of The Learning Process, a rough-hewn direct to the dancefloor jam that’s all about that rolling bassline.

I played all the instruments and used the vocoder on the vocals.
This reached the top 10 of the official U.K. singles charts (peaking at # 7) in 2001.
George Michael asked me if he could use it and sing over it for his album Patience. His version is called "Flawless (Go To The City)" with the identical music. His version also went top 10 in 2004. This has been my biggest hit and has sold worldwide over 1 million copies.

We've been away for a hot minute, but Group Hug Music is finally back with its fourth release, courtesy of SILVERELLA.

"WILL YOU STILL BE MINE" chugs at a mellow 84bpm, led by an irresistible vocoder line with undercurrents of west coast hip hop and 80s electro-funk. This one ain't for the clubs, but it will certainly make your head bob.

Boston-based producer GMGN ups the tempo for his remix, taking all the track's best bits and chopping them up into deep disco oblivion.

On the flip, "SO MUCH MUSIC IN YOURSELF" opens with smooth chords reminiscent of classic Kerri Chandler, gradually adding more and more melodic elements, before finally erupting into electronic house ecstasy.

Silverella - Will You Still Be Mine (GMGN Remix)

Strictly Rhythm Records is house music.  Since 1989 the legendary New York label not only put out records by almost every name in the game, but it also defined house music throughout the 1990s with Erick Morillo, Todd Terry, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Armand Van Helden, DJ Pierre, Roger Sanchez, Josh Wink, Ultra Naté and Barbara Tucker.  As well as keeping the underground stoked with a steady supply of club grooves, the label also delivered a stream of crossover hits with Reel 2 Real’s “I Like To Move It”, Ultra Naté’s “Free”, Wamdue Project’s “King Of My Castle” and Wink’s “Higher State Of Consciousness”.  

Relaunched in 2007 after a five year break following a short-lived venture with Warner Music, Strictly Rhythm did what no dance label had ever done: successfully re-launch itself.  The label made many of its classic releases available on digital download for the first time and signed new productions from the likes of Quentin Harris, Osunlade, Bingo Players Vs Chocolate Puma, Dennis Ferrer, Michel Cleis, Dirty South and Bob Sinclar.  
Always an innovator, the label that invented the 12” white label and put out the first ever commercially released DJ Mix CD in 1993 (The Tony Humphries Strictly Rhythm Mix) is still at the cutting edge, finding and promoting the best in house music.
