This mix is possibly the most special mix I've ever recorded for me personally. The years 2011-2013 I did 3 season in Ibiza, and as cliche as it might sound, that island literally changed my life. I Landed there in 2011 as a DNB and Jungle fanatic, confused by the lack of technics and the fact that it literally this island just dominated by house music and trance. But irony has it I was to leave in 2011 having fallen in love with the Deep House sound I'd found at parties like Kehakuma at Space, Circo Loco at DC10 and others. I know the artwork says 2010-2013, and it is, because Maya Jane Coles and Maceo Plex had some tunes in that year that I discovered in my first summer which I HAD TO INCLUDE!!! Over the course of the 3 summers I met so many amazing people, on the island, and then also back here through the music scene that we were all involved in.  So, This mix is a little present for all of you I met along the way, a little time capsule of 43 of the best tracks from that golden era, I've spent an arm and a leg on discogs collecting these over a couple of months, and this year would be 10 years since I started MoreThanBare out on the island at V Club, where I was able to bring together a few of my island gang for a shindig in that mental little basement on the West End, we bought it back for the Ibiza Reunion at Egg London and the rest is history as they say. It was a very special time. So this is an anniversary present to myself, and a little present to you, and a love letter to nostalgia for that golden time for music. All my familia, you know who you are, wherever you are, I hope you can sit back and enjoy the memories with this one. Set to build on Afterlife’s mesmerizing club concept that’s striking visual and musical identity has so far showcased at Off Sonar, ADE and Ibiza for a 13-week residency at Space, brand curator’s Tale Of Us have now added an extra dimension to its forward-thinking offering with a podcast series named ‘Afterlife Voyage’. 

Launching with a rare 2 hrs mix from Tale Of Us themselves, Afterlife Voyage 001 provides a unique insight into the duo’s ‘realm of consciousness’ and features a range of unreleased tracks and upcoming Afterlife releases. With names from the Afterlife record label also confirmed to contribute to this latest musical journey – their names yet to be revealed – the launch of the podcast series further emphasizes Tale Of Us’ growing dominance within the global club scene and reiterates Afterlife’s 360 degree exploration of music and the arts. 

Venturing to London this Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November for its UK debut, Afterlife will then head to in Miami for Art Basel on Saturday 3rd December for an engaging takeover that sees Marcel Dettmann and Recondite join proceedings.

Backstory: During lockdown I was talking a walk when I heard the original of this track being played out of someones back garden and I just couldn't get the melody out of my head all the way home. I got home, sat down and listened to the original... a FLOOD of ideas came into my head for a remix so I ran to the studio and started writing. The ideas just flowed and flowed and before you know it we had a 9 minute track on our hands! I thought this might be too long. But then again, music is art right? This remake was just meant to be an expression of what I felt in that moment so I decided to leave it as it is.
