KRUNK UNKLES

This is one of several orchestrations I wrote 25 years ago for Glad's 1991 CD release, "The Symphony Project."  The orchestra overdubs for this cut (and much of the album) were recorded at CTS Recording Studios, Wembly in London, by members of the London Symphony Orchestra.  Bob Kauflin performed/wrote the piano arrangement and Ed Nalle is singing.  I added the orchestration to the piano/vocal performance heard in this recording.  The orchestra consisted of 2 flutes, oboe, English horn, 6 French horns, percussion and strings.

The Great Storm Is Over

This is the music for a spot promoting Jimmy Kimmell's recent post-Oscar Awards TV show.  It's a :30 arrangement of "The Best Is Yet to Come," produced by Michael Nelson Rizzo.  Mike arranged the track and asked me to write the horn arrangement.  He also informed me that Kimmel's folks needed the spot very quickly--the following morning.  It was already the middle of the afternoon!  Mike sent me the track, I booked the players, wrote the chart and produced the horn session while he booked the vocalist, recorded her and mixed the spot.  We turned everything around in about 6 hours.  Oh yeah, and he's in Philadelphia and I'm in Nashville.  Yes, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.  :)  Hope you enjoy it!
