James Everingham is a British film composer and producer. James discovered a passion for both music and film in his early teens and instead of a formal musical education, developed his signature sound through years of playing piano and percussion purely by ear and intuition. Inspired by great composers such as Bach and Elgar, James’s musical upbringing created a strong foundation for his powerful melodies and orchestrations.

James’s recent work includes BBC’s Frozen Planet II (with Hans Zimmer and Adam Lukas), the multi-award winning National Geographic film Apollo: Missions to the Moon and NBC’s Super Bowl LVI show open. James also worked closely with world-renowned organists and spatial audio experts to capture a meticulously detailed sample library of the Royal Albert Hall’s 9,999 pipe organ, as part of the Hall’s 150th anniversary.

James presents a passionate approach to scoring and delivers at the highest creative and technical levels with unrivalled dedication, through the use of custom-built music technology and a growing collection of unique instruments and synthesizers.

Hypnotic drums, undulating bass lines and riff-laden guitars provide a solid grounding for Red Sky Burial’s commanding live set which has cemented the band as a force to be reckoned with in the Melbourne live music scene.

Described as aggressive rock with thick bass lines and heavy groove, Red Sky Burial released their debut self-titled EP in 2011. The recording was picked up by Rocket Distribution and released nationally through JB Hifi and iTunes.  Following its release, sales of the EP were beyond expectation, requiring the band to undertake 2nd and 3rd pressings in a relatively short period of time. 

Reviews by BEAT magazine and ZOO mag describe Red Sky Burial as brutal rock with variation and dynamics, sinister, intuitive and obelisk-heavy.  Heavy magazine described the live shows as talented with a wicked energy and a beautiful blend of progressive rock and metal rolled into their sound.

The end of 2012 marked a new chapter for the band when a new guitarist and new injection of riffs was brought into the Red Sky Burial melting pot. After taking part in the Dreadnaught 21st Anniversary in September 2013, Heavy magazine described the updated line-up as talented with a wicked energy and a beautiful blend of progressive rock and metal rolled into their sound.  Set to release again in 2014, Red Sky Burial are looking forward to every success!
