Lots of clicks, pops and crackles on the first track. Plenty of elbow grease and fairy liquid was required before play. So it starts a bit quietly, apologies, just crank it up, folks! Sounds somewhat like someone is frying sausages next to you...

"...Still Comin' Real" by Memphis rapper Shawty Pimp. A quite hard-to-find underground hip-hop cassette from 1995. Now available from Gyptology Records in nice translucent purple shells. Mid 90's was a golden time for hip-hop when there was so much being produced that for one person to listen to everything was impossible. A bit like 1979 was for Disco music.

These kinds of sound recordings were typically 'of the time' or 'in the moment', and thus never could be re-created with the same 'vibe' or 'verve' as those original captures.
