We are happy to announce the Parasite boys are back to grace us with yet another quality four track release "Hostile EP" OUT TODAY!!!.

"Hostile", the latest EP from producers Twisted and Akano - better known in drum & bass circles as the duo Parasite. At four tracks long, the record displays a duo with an ability to construct mesmerising rhythms and grooves, making the EP perfect for those who love to get lost on the dancefloor.

'Sinister' kicks off the record. Distorted sound design provides the track's opening moments with an ominous feel, while mammoth drum programming cuts through the noise as the introduction progresses. As 'Sinister' unfolds, Parasite layers the track: single kick patterns intertwined with lurching breaks, a running metallic synth placed on the top.

A constant groove defines 'Hostile'. Parasite achieves this with a clawing bass line, offset by an earworm percussion line. The switch-up, subtle but effective, includes warbling melodies that hit the ear and swarm all over the track upon arrival.

'Enigma' is consistent sound system pressure. Building upon the hypnotic quality of the previous two tracks. The percussion lines are heavy, a repeated sequence that anchors the track and gives a hulking feeling to proceedings, submerged in a bath of effects that heightens 'Enigma's' brain- affecting nature. Scorched earth samples zip around the rhythms, and the track feels fit to soundtrack a last dance in the face of the apocalypse.

Closing out “Hostile” is Personnage’s remix of the title track. Parasite’s original was packed with grooves and hard-bodied percussion work, Personnage takes the tune into deeper territory, adding more dark sound design alongside thunderous but brief break patterns.

“Hostile” will land on all digital platforms 24th January 2022.

"The idea to make an archive of music I started my career from came to me spontaneously. I collected 24 tracks, some of which have been released, some are unfinished demos and others have been shared as freebies. I re-rendered the tunes from my DAW and leave them unmastered so you can hear them exactly how I’m when was creating them. I took out vocals from most of the songs to keep the attention to instruments and also leave the original project titles of the tracks.

Today, at the Archive release day, I deleted all those projects to completely let that music go and free my mind for new music experiences. I hope you’ll share some nostalgic moments with me listening to Archive." — Nuage
