Co-founder behind the dynamic platform and event series 'Refractiøn’ and now a part of Structure. DUTS has a background orchestrating community-focused events within the underground scene in the UK and Poland.

An all-round DJ technically, DUTS seamlessly blends the analog warmth of vinyl with the cutting-edge precision of digital. Crafting a sonic journey that transcends genres, his eclectic selections draw inspiration from a myriad of musical influences. Over the years, DUTS has been deeply moved by the hypnotic elements of dub, the stripped-back functional approach of minimal, the ethereal aura of ambient, and the soul-stirring resonance of deep melodies—influences that echo throughout his DJ sets.

His experience behind the decks shines through having performed at renowned venues such as The DBA, Stage & Radio, Crackhouse (PL), Rebellion, and Eastern Bloc.

Bassiani Podcast 272 brings together two techno heavy-hitters for a three-hour bout of heady, rolling grooves. In one corner comes Georgian mainstay and grassroots agitator NDRX, a formative member of Tbilisi's techno contingent. His early efforts in expanding the city's nightlife offerings helped drive radical change, and shaped the decades since. His mission further translated into the founding of Stare at DJ (2012), and 11th Floor (2015). Both are vehicles for the gathering and promotion of local talent without which, Georgia today would look much different. In the other corner comes Dustin Zahn, a midwestern champion for tribal rhythms and pulsating hypnotism. Heavily armed with a flurry of references including the brain-melting IDM of the late 90s and iconoclastic beats, Dustin founded Enemy Records in 2004. In recent years, he has made appearances on labels like Blueprint, Token, and Rekids. He also hosts the Trainwrecks Podcast, an outlet for intimate face-to-face chats with industry peers. This storied duo are a menacing match, a b2b pairing that manifests the adrenaline-fueled techno native to both their sounds and whips up a sum greater than both its parts. This latest number is a bout of fevered techno havoc devised by two sonic confrères, an auditory onslaught of hammering loops recorded live at Bassiani's season closing night.

Having cut his teeth in Brooklyn's warehouse scene, Auspex has become a fixture of NYC's underground techno community and a tireless presence in the city's queer nightlife.

His vision of techno as ritual, darkly throbbing, hypnotic and cathartic, comes alive in sets that weave long, mind-bending blends charged with intensity and release.

He has shared stages with artists from Phase Fatale to Rebekah, played NYC underground institutions like Unter and The Bunker, as well as Berlin's Staub, Pornceptual, Gegen, RSO, ://about blank and most recently Berghain.

Founder of Dominion and later the residency party ALTÆR at Basement, Auspex has created intentional spaces for discovery, reflection and queer community on the dance floor. Beyond DJing, his classical background informs his productions, with releases on Soma, Diffuse Reality, Mäinmise, Oath and more, alongside his own new imprint, Templum.

This episode continues VARIA's mission: championing considered electronic expression and lasting artistry.

Alex Brasile is a Milanese DJ born in ’96, blending techno and electro with ’80s and ’90s influences, driven by his passion for vinyl. His visceral vinyl-only sets showcase authentic sound exploration. As a resident of Periferica and Technocrazia, he has brought his unique sound to Milan, Turin, and Bologna.
