Structure Series Invites 005 - Fergus Sweetland

24th edition to Structure Series Invites and the k ast episode of 2024 we have the vinyl wizard - @slopeunit 

Rhythm is a driving force of the universe.
Originally from Poland, Slope Unit has debuted over a decade ago in the infamous club [M]etro Club back in his hometown, Białystok.

Record-digging together with dedication to the rhythm drew his attention towards the wider aspect of sonic experimentation which pushed him to start producing his own material.

After a few years of relentless mixing in Warsaw, he was looking for a more suitable place to unfold his musical journey, and London turned out to be the location.

Hardware synthesizers were suddenly overshadowed by eurorack’s universe, what was recycled later on for his recently released EP’s on Modular Underground and Totentanz Recordings.

He is a part of the Based On Lies showcase together with his partner in crime - Joanna (T A K A) discovered back in 2016 by Dazed & Confused and endorsed by Revive Festival 2019.

Now returning to DJing, Slope Unit constantly amazes us with the immense energy of his sets and his uncompromising selections, claiming that pushing musical boundaries is his call of duty.

“You simply cannot pinpoint the moment in history when Techno established itself as a new genre in dance music. Not anymore, anyway. Go ahead and try telling the story “the migration of the bassdrum”. You’ll realise quickly that all you get is a very pale picture, watered down by not-to-be-trusted records of oral history from the cities which played a major role in Techno. Historic developments are overshadowed by local characteristics and gossip.” - René Pawlowitz
