Description: To celebrate my one-year anniversary of graduating my Master's Degree in Music Composition, I composed this short partita in F Minor inspired by Octavia Melody. This is written for piano, organ, solo cello, and strings. Dedicated to Daniel Ingram and Kazumi Evans.

Inspired by Luke Willson's "Techno Thursday" and "Technovember", I created this song that quotes a bullfighting melody.  This was also devised exclusively for the Seahawks color-rush game against the Cardinals on November 9, 2017...which was played on a [Techno] Thursday evening. Enjoy and go Hawks!

Welcome back to #56weeklysongs! I know it's been more than a week since my last upload, and I apologize for the lateness. I already have a plan to get back on the weekly track and hope you'll understand why it took so long to finish "At Christmas." Not only was I busy, and a little depressed, but it's easily the most complex recording I've ever attempted on my own. Even in this form, I'm not completely satisfied with the mix or master, but that's kind of what #56weeklysongs is about - not musical perfection, but getting things released!

Like "I Heard The Bells (Oh Equestria)", my new song "At Christmas" explores the tension between the darkness and the light of the Christmas season. Christmas is a hard time for a lot of people, but there aren't many songs that address that aspect of the year. It's a lot easier (and a lot more marketable) to focus on either the fun times or religious aspects of Christmas than it is to talk about the struggles people have at this time of year. So I was inspired to write something a little more down-to-earth about the season.

Christmas can be a hard time for many people, but what makes hard times easier is when friends love one another. Check in on your friends and tell them you care for them this year.

Christmas might have been last Wednesday, but I have one last Christmas song for you all before we get into the New Year! I decided to go for a somewhat nontraditional spin on a traditional hymn. All sounds are created by either my vocal chords or my Behringer Deepmind 12 analog synthesizer.

"What Child is This?" is one of my favorite Christmas hymns. It connects the season of Advent with the season of Easter through it's second verse. I really enjoyed recording this. Unlike "At Christmas," I began recording "What Child Is Synth" with little idea of what the end product would sound like. I had never really played around much with my Behringer Deepmind 12 synthesizer before, and it was exciting to discover the sounds in the synth as I recorded this track.
