That’s the Way the Strysles crumble

“Strysles” is a rock band from Southern Luxembourg, gathering some experienced musicians passionate about modern rock music. Around 2010, guitarist David Lemmer had the idea to start a new musical adventure after years of playing in cover bands. Together with guitarist/singer Dan Mangiulli and drummer Ben Kehl, they composed the first couple of songs. The sound is influenced by their idols like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Audioslave, Stereophonics, Alter Bridge just to name a few. Just a little bit later, Sacha Heck, originally a keyboarder, decided to switch instruments and join the band as a bassist.

And there they were sitting together, thinking about a name for the band. It happened that someone brought some “Streisel” to the rehearsal that day, those awesome little pudding-stuffed pastries with a crumbly topping. Yeahhh there it was right in front of them. It‘s just their orthographic deficiency that led to the unusual spelling.

It’s on

During the last years, Strysles has been playing some concerts in Luxembourg like the birthday concert of “Rockbox” together with “Porn-Queen”“IRINA”, “Grey Station” or yet “The Barcodes”. In November 2013 Strysles organized a big charity event for the Philippines together with “The Neverminds”, “Tuys” and “IRINA” which was a great experience.

Strysles felt the need to renew in the beginning of 2015. What about a new voice? So that Dan could concentrate more on his guitar parts? Not easy to find, but very soon, Ms Elena Drvosanova stepped into the game. Originating from Macedonia, rocker, adventurer, songwriter and humourous person, she relocated to Luxembourg in 2015 and was looking for a new band after some nice projects and rather big success in Macedonia and Paris. Equally crazy-minded, it was clear that she would be their man … uuhm … (front-)woman.

After weeks and months of work and with a clear goal in mind, Strysles has hit the studio in November 2015 to finally release their first official EP on 23rd April 2016 at “Den Hollänner” in Wickrange. 

For music lovers in Luxembourg and the greater region (Germany, France, Luxembourg), Gilles ZEIMET doesn't really need to be 
introduced any more. With 35 years of experience in the music business on the guitar and as artist and songwriting /composing author, he has shot many stages and published over 50 songs yet.
After some various bands, the first album with the band "No Name" was released in 1991. Another 7 albums and compilations followed. 
This was followed by various collaborations with different bands where the songs with their own arrangements and compositions were shaped by the handwriting of Gilles. 
His latest band, Alien Pitch Cat, was founded in 2014 and quickly became a fixture in the “postgrunge rock” style. Clear, audible characteristics of the group are the characteristic influences of Rage 
against the machine, Audioslave, Hblockx, etc., which are particularly close to Gilles' heart and he was responsible for most of the compositions and arrangements of the songs of the 3 released albums.
In fact, the passionate guitar player and musician has played rock and progressive rock for more than 35 years. He wrote, co-arranged and designed with his guitarplay and music knowledge more 
than 13 albums and compilations and has written and published around 50 songs since 2002, be it as a composer, arranger or as musician. 
At the end of 2017, as Alien Pitch Cat broke up, Gilles decided to continue his solo career and released yet 2 Albums "Red" and "Alien'spitch of the century". The 3rd will be released early 2024.  Various Rock and Pop

Of the small group of bands now emerging out of Luxembourg, Hal Flavin may be the most individual yet.

What you get is an edgy rock band, grit, dirt and all, who hang their stage with a futuristic dangle of cables, effects and finery, as if prepared for some strange ritual of the soul. 
The blood flowing through those jacks and data chips seems pumped from the Indie and Electro-roots of their teens, with live energy to match. 
And if references are not music to your ears - once you get hooked on one of their pop-driven melodies, you'll be all fired up... with no questions asked.

Hal Flavin was founded in 2007 by indie-punk musicians busy with installation art and stage scores, soon to be completed by two pure-blood groove lovers on bass and drum. Since the release of their first EP, 'The Talk', they write and produce as a four-piece and have shared the stage with Metronomy, Delphic, Kraftwerk and Does It Offend You Yeah, to name but a few. 

Sounds like: Interpol & Kraftwerk meet Bat for Lashes on Mutemath's favourite UFO landing spot in Sherwood Forest.
