Since I have been busy gardening lately, I haven’t been on SoundCloud all that much. But today… June 17th, it has been cold and rainy, with some snow (yes, snow!) predicted for tonight. So I have tarps and covers ready to go, to cover the frost sensitive plants. This song is a darkly themed Blues. I had posted it on my page, not too long ago, but then deleted it, as I sometimes do, for certain reasons that later come to light. Years ago, when I first posted songs here, my exuberance often blinded me to just how bad those songs were. So I ended up posting and deleting songs all the time. Once a dude asked if I was using a mic, as the ‘white noise’ machine hiss of the HD was unbearable. He said it in the kindest of ways. Hahahaha, and I did end up getting a mic and also did a song thanking him. Other times, I used to introduce my songs and that was hilariously comedic on just how bad that was. Another dude laughed so hard when I was first learning to sing… and rightly so too. OMG. Later, I laughed too. People here were graciously patient and kind as I struggled to learn music way back when. Unlike a friend’s parents who chased him in an effort to take his banjo away. He never played music again. So thanks for bearing with me, as I test out vocal harmonies that really don’t work, or just wing a song, with no rhyme of reason. Or when I rant and howl about this or that. Because that kindness has allowed me to explore music in a way I never would have before.  Mark

Stuart Masters combines Western and Indian Classical, Folk and Celtic influences, with contemporary percussive techniques, to create a unique, hybrid style of guitar playing and song writing. Having been invited to perform across the globe from Shanghai to Austin and even recording a Hindi Music video in North India, his creative approach to the instrument involves the 12 String Harp Guitar (an early 20th Century American instrument), using a hammer to strike the strings, a double-handed fretboard technique and live looping.
