To The Trees is a four piece synth-rock band from Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Their music is driving and atmospheric, with pulsing rhythms and lyrics that explore themes around the authenticity of deeper connection with ourselves and others. Formed in 2015 by Katelyn Bearinger (vocals/synth), Mike Johnson (guitar), Trevor Martin (keys/vocals) and Jake Bursey (drums/percussion), To The Trees have just released their first studio EP available now at https://www.tothetrees.ca.

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Royal Wood has established himself as a true musical talent. Since being proclaimed “Songwriter of the Year” by iTunes, Wood has continued to evolve and hone his musical craft – maintaining an unmistakable identity while uncovering and reinventing his sound.

Wood has two albums that have debuted in the Top 30, multiple JUNO nominations and a #1 added song at Hot AC radio. His songs have been heard on high profile sync placements like Grey’s Anatomy, and Private Practice.

Wood’s new album GHOST LIGHT, featuring the single “Long Way Out” is due out April 22, 2016 via Cadence Music Group/Universal.

There are various explanations for the term ‘ghost light’. There is the supernatural narrative – that every theatre has a ghost, and that when the light isn’t lit, the darkness provides a chance for the dead to haunt us. And then there is the Royal Wood version of GHOST LIGHT. The kind that lets someone truly shine from within – raw, honest and open, and that’s why he has named his new record after this mythical glow.

“This album for me was a full return to writing and recording simply for the joy of creation…A true letting go and allowing,” says Royal.

The result is an album that exudes raw emotion and emanates a feel of the songwriters of the sixties and seventies. “I felt like on this album, I snuffed out the external Ghost Lights, and allowed my internal light to glow instead,” says Royal.

The first single “Long Way Out” exemplifies this definitive focus of the record. It’s gripping and melodic and screams with sincerity.
