Studio 11.12 Flights | A weekly series of curated exclusive mixes from DJs around the world.

These Flights are meant to take the listener on a journey to explore new sounds and styles of music, and to feature those talented DJs giving them some worldwide exposure especially considering the current COVID-19 pandemic and its affect on the artists’ community worldwide.

This also serves as part of Studio 11.12's continued mission to expose its listeners to quality sounds, but this time all the way from around the world!

ANecDote is a musical project born in January 2018, during a transformative trip to Ireland.
Transporting the listener to new spaces, the unknown, love and nostalgia are elements that ANecDote aims to bring together through his music.
Inspired by Baudelaire and 19th century romanticism, ANecDote uses music to express the essence of who he is and his state of mind.
Now living in Paris, ANecDote created, in January 2020, the Association d’Idées à But Récréatif, an event management consultancy promoting serendipity as its core concept.
Winner of the ‘tremplin RIFFX’ in September 2020, he was offered to play a live-streamed mix at the top of the picturesque Vincennes castle dungeon.

Odd Hills is a Lithuanian born, London based techno DJ, co-founder of Temple.Recordings and event series Temple.Invites. His love for electronic music began from a young age, but it wasn’t until he emigrated to the UK that he identified his true sound and style. Incorporating dark and melodic elements with experimental sounds, his unique style truly takes listeners on a mesmerising journey. His hard work and dedication to the scene has led him to play across a range of clubs in London, as well as in Glasgow and Vilnius. The lack of physical events across the past 12 months has led to increased focus on the Temple.Prayer podcast series, which features a broad spectrum of techno styles, allowing up and coming DJs a chance to showcase their work, alongside international heavy-hitters.

Kiar Oscuro was born in Switzerland and was introduced to the world of techno for the first time at 20. This first experience changed the trajectory of her life leaving her with a strong desire to explore this whole culture. After a few years, she decided to move to Berlin where she then played in many clubs such as KitKat, Sisyphos, About Blank, as well as some other clubs in Germany, Switzerland, Israel and Austria, and a couple festivals.
Her sound is influenced by psytrance, trance and acid as well as raw underground techno.
She released her first track "Rhea" with Advanced Black Records, and her first two EPs "Conundrum" with Neuhain Recordings, and "Night Rose" with Insane Industry Recordings.

Amadeu Pretto was born in 1979. He currently resides in the city of Canela in southern Brazil.
He started DJing at the age of 15 with record players.  In the early 90s, he was inspired by DJs and producers Sasha & John Digwee's album "Renaissance: The Mix Collection". He started his career as a DJ, in small private events. However in 1999 he was invitaed to participate in a rave party, “Cybergate”, which took place in city ​​of Porto Alegre - Brazil. He has also participated in some electronic music projects, and around the years 2005 - 2007, he participated in the “Trance Control” project party that took place at Club Neo, one of the biggest electronic music in the city.
Currently, Amadeu Pretto records mixes for online platforms as a nonprofit hobby. He dedicates himself to electronic music with the interest of making people happy.

Nordic surroundings, vibrant seasons, and strong elements influences the Stockholm (Berlin) based artist Alnö.
Captured by the underground scene of Sweden, first as techno blogger and holder of Gbgtechno, the passion for electronic music brought Alnö to start Dj-ing and moved to Berlin in 2017. Becoming a resident of the techno collective Zement, Alnö got the opportunity to form her own sound and play at underground events in Germany and Sweden.
Alnö expresses the sounds of deep, dark and hypnotic techno and her well composed, dynamic sets of evolving and driving soundscapes, powerful beats, and atmospheric rhythms, brings the listener to discover new energies and spheres of sounds.
Alnö combines her artistic side as the founder and curator of the Berlin based event series Deep x Heights, focusing on connecting upcoming and established artists together by creating a platform for them
to interact, grow and explore their own unique sound.

Born into a naturalistic growing cycle into the unknown of infinity, the artist appropriates emotions and is consistently on a quest for ultimate reason.
His taste for risk-taking and the unexplored naturally ensures he has an intimate relationship with abstract art.
Considering repetitive rhythms with slight, but powerful, variations as a means of transcendence, his emotional approach is sensitive - filling up emotions to their absolute tipping point so that it speaks directly to the subconscious.

Inspired by the nature of man and its clear impact on the environment, this artist builds an ideology of matter through sound. Developing a deep aversion to monotony, Rolphëus explores the flavours of the world guided through a frantic, yet controlled, instinct.

In addition to jazz singing and darkwave, Medha developed a passion for technoid music early on. Influenced by the Berlin and Leipzig club scene, especially the Institut für Zukunft, she developed her own idea of expressing her passion. With concise basslines, impulsive rhythms and repetitive sounds she creates an endless drive that always aims to make listeners dance. Leipzig based she has also been an integral part of the PVC collective for over a year.

I hope my hypnotic mixes are journeys where you will enjoy yourself and get lost in driving baselines, organic textures, mystical vibes and ambient atmospheres. If you are happy or sad, sober or high, I try to create a journey that leaves you inspired & gives you energy for your future events.

Dea is an Italian Dj based in the UAE. She grew up experiencing techno from a young age and her long time love for fast dark beats translates today into her music and never ending journey into the world of electronic music. Today she loves to experiment with deep fast hypnotic rolling sounds throughout her sets. Never still, she brings different energy levels into her sets, crossing bridges between genres that have strong electro warped beats, tough bass-lines and trippy melodies throughout.

"Techno is my way of meditate. When I am with the music either on the dance floor or in the booth, I feel the best of myself. It’s pure pleasure to feel how dark sounds and spaces can become the purest form of light within you. It’s an escape, but also the highest form of reality."

Ukimen originally from the Basque Country, based in Granada, his passion for music began very young with his first Hip Hop and Reggae vinyls, which were followed by Punk, metal, psychedelic Rock, etc.

Coming of age, he started in electronics through Minimal, Acid and Techno sounds, exploring new rhythms such as Break Beat and Drum&Bass.

Nourished by different musical genres and styles, another stage began with atmospheric, hypnotic, dark and industrial rhythms.

At present, a variety of sounds and formats can be seen in his works, from ethereal, experimental environments to deep and euphoric basses, seeking a mental and abstract Techno in the mixes.

Warok imprint owner DJ and producer Clotur is one of the important figures on the current French and Tunisian techno scene.
Inspired by the percussive rhythms and atmospheric textures, he developed his own style, mixing hypnotic layers and catchy bassline.

In his discography, we find several releases on labels such as The Gods Planet, End of Perception, Northalssen records, One Instrument. As well as his latest and vinyl releases on his label such as Dimensions Doors, Ponorogo 1, Ponorogo 2 and 3.

"My musical foundations are rooted in AC/DC, Sabbath and Metallica and give rise to a love of 4/4 rhythm and the riff. From here they veered into where worlds collide – Pink Floyd met the Orb in a student dive and a love of electronica was born, encompassing pioneers such as Orbital, Leftfield et al through to UK D&B, taking in Kruder & Dorfmeister and the dub scene along the way.
The love affair however ended in the early nineties, I wasn’t feeling anything from electronica any more, but I knew the music I could hear in my mind must be out there - somewhere. My musical imaginations seemed to put all of the above aspects in place and was only discovered pre pandemic in the form of deep techno. This discovery so rekindled my love and excitement that I took the plunge into DJing - I wanted to take the music internally heard and create mixes to ease back to and soothe the soul. Voila. I hope you all get the same level of enjoyment from this mix, as I had creating it." - Morian.

Nina (DJ alias иιиιт'α), who is self-taught, came of age in the male-dominated early 90's rave scene, has been heavily influenced by the deeper sounds of techno, atmospheric, and most things unconventional. Nina, who views the art of mixing as a spiritual practice that seeks to "balance relationship to mind and body, "prefers private parties to clubs/bars where the dancing is louder than the conversation. Her sets lean in the direction of storytelling, turning the moment's vibe into sonic passages, usually with a dark and moody undertone that reveal splashes of light and space to feel.

Early in 1998 he found his way playing music by himself with two turntables and a mixer. After few years getting in shape he moved forward to perform in Clubs
and Raves in Madrid, eventually with time becoming a Sound Technician. CO-FOUNDER of Asymmetrical Records and now based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The picture shows the facade of a modern building on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds. The typical features of the Bauhaus style are recognizable, especially the symmetrical and simple forms. The aesthetics here lie in the maxim so characteristic of this style: form follows function. Beauty is therefore defined by functionality and not the other way around.

Bio |
Nils interest in music started at a very early age where he started out playing guitar, bass and drums, and then he fell in love with techno music in his mid-20s. He started DJ-ing only a couple of years ago, and he's already played at various techno events around Norway and Oslo. Nils strives to create a unique atmosphere and sound every time he gets behind the decks as he gets the dance floor grooving and lost in the music. 

Nils also happens to be the Head of Sustainability and Stage Builder at the brilliant Monument festival.

Bio | Dj and producer, based in Cantabria, Spain; where he was born and raised. An unconditional lover of electronic music in a variety of styles such as Techno, Dub-techno, Electro, and Deep House. His interest in underground music started in the mid-90s. He started his career in music in 2001, and has accumulated a long experience, were he was a resident DJ in different clubs, played at different festivals and events in Northern Spain. Nacho Sanchez is a great vinyl collector. His overflowing technology and clinical technique in his sets have made Nacho a benchmark for Underground Techno in Northern Spain. Nacho has already release his first EP (Orion)with Someday Lab in 2018, and is planning to do more production work in the near future.

Bio | John Pacheco is an American DJ/Producer currently based in Frankfurt, Germany. He is the owner of Bossy Bottoms events and radio show, holding a residency on Data Transmission Radio @datatransmission and a staple to the Dallas Eagle, he bridges tech house music to the gay community. John is inspired by the UK underground tech house scene and the power of vocals.

Bio | Bio: Techno DJ Based In Sydney, Australia. Falling In love with the genre after a visit to the legendary Tresor club in Berlin, and ever since then has been delving deeper into the esteemed underground, Berlin-styled techno sound. Influenced by the DJing styles of Ben Klock, Rodhad, Etapp Kyle and DVS1; BIGELOW as a DJ has drawn inspiration from these influences and techno figureheads to firmly find an eclectic style within the genre. Playing a range of hypnotic and deep sounds, played at an elevated groovy tempo, his sets incorporate adlib beats and rhythms found from whatever it is he's playing and manipulating them to create a spontaneous and exciting sound, all the while using 3 digital turntables or CDJ's.

Bio | Lateral is a Melbourne based techno artist. Most of his releases residing on Melbourne-based record label 'Machine' @machine-label; the label he proudly calls his home. Lateral came on board as a Partner in Machine Label in 2016 and shares responsibility for sourcing and selecting music for the label with Andrew Till. He has been making music and DJing for the last 14 years or so.

Bio | Chris Sosa is a Dutch based Techno DJ who has been part of the Dutch scene for over 17 years. After he was introduced to DJ’ing by a close friend, he was hooked big time. Since then he’s mostly been playing in Holland, Turkey and in the UK, but COVID-19 changed everything. Chris is a technology enthusiast. As soon as the lockdown started, a friend an him started the DJ livestream platform Quarantunez so to bring the party straight into everyone’s living room.

Bio | Danny Wabbit’s musical journey awakened at the age of 8 after he received his first guitar. This gradually built up an interest in developing his DJ skills by the time he turned 15 and got into electronic music. Afterward, moving to Turkey pushed him into music production after performing at a local techno club in Istanbul. A little over a year and a half later Danny has signed with labels such as say what records, ballroom recordings, Phobiq, and plazma records to name a few gaining, support on his tracks from artists around the globe. The artist combines simplicity and minimalism and emphasizes the vibrancy of the dark atmosphere while creating his powerful, sometimes aggressive, mind-altering and eccentric art compositions.

Bio | Miroir, a.k.a. David P, is a French DJ based in Saint Nazaire along the West coast of France. According to David, it all started in 1992 with the discovery of the world of raves, acid house parties and also with the appearance of the first vinyl record stores where he spent a large part of his time looking for new releases. His first purchases were from labels like axis synewave and djax-up beats. Then DJs collectives based in Nantes such as Phantastek, regularly invited him to launch their techno parties where he would play progressive and hypnotic mixes. Known by the name of Dj Dav at that time, and today it is through Miroir, French for Mirror; that he wishes to share his reflections and musical influences with all those who's "hearts vibrates again and forever with the bass of electronic music."

Bio | Julian Mesa is a house and techno artist from Brooklyn, NYC - now based in Bahrain. Inspired by some of the more artistic names in underground dance, he draws influence from the likes of Ellen Allien, Fabio Florido, Jon Hester, Keith Carnal, Alex Baciu, and Satoshi Tomiie to name but a few.
Growing up stateside in the ‘90s, Julian was exposed to a wave of what is now considered to be some of the most important records in electronic music history - a rich musical background that he has carried with him along the way to refining and perfecting his craft.

Bio | Started in 2010, Petit Astronaute has been developing its music for about ten years. His first ep (Line of Line) was released on: Pardon Records and a second ep (From Earth) came out on Circular Limited. Very well received on the electronic scene, he is supported by artists such as Justine Perry, Svarog, or Joachim Spieth. His third EP (Spirit of the Earth) came out on Aarden Records, supported by big names of the deep scene.  Like its name, Petit Astronaute delivers a techno-spacial, harmonious and even almost seraphic techno.

Bio | Recently relocated to Barcelona, Adelia is a dj from Prague, Czech Republic. Dj-ing since 2015, she started off by playing dark techno but gradually shifted towards more hypnotic and mental techno. In her sets she expresses feelings from other universes, with the deep and dreamy sounds she flood her sets with. In the past she curated her own events at the legendary Cross Club in Prague where she would invite djs to play. She has also played across other countries and she loves dancing as much as she loves playing music. She is therefore constantly traveling around Europe for techno; a raver before even being a dj. 
Her face picture is this dreamy character. To her, the main focus is music and not whether she’s a man or a woman.

Adelia happens to be our first female on board Studio 11.12 Flights, perfectly rising for the occasion.

Artwork | One of the highest mountains in Spain where Adelia was mountain climbing just three weeks ago. She says she’s done many crazy things in her life, and yet this was one of her best experiences.

Bio | The passion for music has always been there. Before Shelley started DJ-ing in 2019 she was dancing in Clubs across Germany.
She figured out how much fun it was to play music and found more and more love for deep techno. She loves to let the music drift and to dive into another world. Her sets is a combination of deep, hypnotic elements, as well as powerful, captivating rhythms.

"My vision of techno is a kind of ritualistic, my aim is to generate dark but yet groovy and impactful atmospheres, using hypnotic sounds to impact the mind, but also caring a lot of about the percussion and grooves behind those, impacting the body as well. Through that combination, we can generate an impact on the soul.
But where there's darkness there's light, so through sparkles of light and melody I try to show that opposites are not that far one from each other.

Bio |
The Unknown Psychologist, whose real name is Chris, has fallen into electronic music since a young age. In his beginnings, in the 80's, he enjoyed creating beats on Amstrad, and later on in the 90's, he discovered dj-ing/mixing; starting with vinyl then for over 15 years using digital mediums.

His early musical influences are tinged with EBM Industrial (Front 242, Cabaret Voltaire, Front Line Assembly, etc.), and later on the times of the first Raves led him into Hard Techno. After exploring a lot of styles, Chris navigates now between deep, dub and hypnotic Techno.

Meszkov, whose real name is Piotr, was born in 1987 in the Polish city of Olsztyn. He began his adventure with the Techno/Electronic music world back in 2001.
Being in the scene for three years, this man has been running riot as he not only established himself in his home country but found himself already crossing borders. With his fast and energetic sets, he guarantees to make your mind wander off in the broad blend of his sound and the extraordinary attention he lays into his message. He recently established a series called Akurat events in his city Olsztyn and is a moderator of Elektroniczny Olsztyn facebook group.

Fernie has been creating and crafting his sound since 2002 drawing on heavyweight influences from his hometown Glasgow he delivers thought provoking textures with sweeping pads and driving rhythms.
Most recently he has released on his own Space Textures imprint as well as DNC Limited and Obscure Sorrows Records maintaining a trademark atmospheric sound.
In this mix for Studio 11.12 you will hear selections from the vaults as well as upfront unreleased material featuring both vinyl and digital picks all mixed by hand in one take by Fernie live in Glasgow.

Biocym is an artistic project from southern Italy that seeks to awaken emotions by expressing its feelings towards reality and the use of atmospheres and scenarios reflected in its sound. The main nucleus of his work reflects the attitude that man must embody in order to move in a dark and inscrutable reality that he must face when he inevitably explores it.
Biocym represents the way in which the artist approaches the way of awakening in himself by contemplating the infinite variety of landscapes of reality and proposes his progressive deepening. His music is the meeting point of his two influences: natural sounds and those other sounds generated by his creativity.

We curate raves and we run a podcast mix series 'Studio 11.12 Flights'.

Our raves, labeled as 'Listening Parties', started as a house party and grew to small private raves. The name was inspired by a cover story by RA about Listening Bars in Japan. And Studio 11.12 was named after the actual studio apartment where Herr Banna lived and where this party series started. 

Our mix series; labeled ‘Studio 11.12 Flights’, features DJs from around the world that we very selectively approach. The idea is to expose our audience and local crowd to quality sounds from around the world in the hopes of expanding their knowledge and widening their taste of good music.
