Studio 11.12 Flights | A weekly series of curated exclusive mixes from DJs around the world.

These Flights are meant to take the listener on a journey to explore new sounds and styles of music, and to feature those talented DJs giving them some worldwide exposure especially considering the current COVID-19 pandemic and its affect on the artists’ community worldwide.

This also serves as part of Studio 11.12's continued mission to expose its listeners to quality sounds, but this time all the way from around the world!

Nacho Sanchez | @nachosanchezdj

Bio | Dj and producer, based in Cantabria, Spain; where he was born and raised. An unconditional lover of electronic music in a variety of styles such as Techno, Dub-techno, Electro, and Deep House. His interest in underground music started in the mid-90s. He started his career in music in 2001, and has accumulated a long experience, were he was a resident DJ in different clubs, played at different festivals and events in Northern Spain. Nacho Sanchez is a great vinyl collector. His overflowing technology and clinical technique in his sets have made Nacho a benchmark for Underground Techno in Northern Spain. Nacho has already release his first EP (Orion)with Someday Lab in 2018, and is planning to do more production work in the near future.

John Pacheco | @djjohnpacheco

Bio | John Pacheco is an American DJ/Producer currently based in Frankfurt, Germany. He is the owner of Bossy Bottoms events and radio show, holding a residency on Data Transmission Radio @datatransmission and a staple to the Dallas Eagle, he bridges tech house music to the gay community. John is inspired by the UK underground tech house scene and the power of vocals.

Set Description (by the artist) | This set pays tribute to his influences and the great music/genres that have come out of the U.S..

Artwork | This artwork comes from the collaboration of photographer Macksturgis and his husband Chad. Their photography is a staple in the Instagram gay community - focusing on the classic, epic, and erotic. This artwork is part of a series dedicated to the Bossy Bottoms mixes.

Flight003 - Germany | John Pacheco

Bio | Bio: Techno DJ Based In Sydney, Australia. Falling In love with the genre after a visit to the legendary Tresor club in Berlin, and ever since then has been delving deeper into the esteemed underground, Berlin-styled techno sound. Influenced by the DJing styles of Ben Klock, Rodhad, Etapp Kyle and DVS1; BIGELOW as a DJ has drawn inspiration from these influences and techno figureheads to firmly find an eclectic style within the genre. Playing a range of hypnotic and deep sounds, played at an elevated groovy tempo, his sets incorporate adlib beats and rhythms found from whatever it is he's playing and manipulating them to create a spontaneous and exciting sound, all the while using 3 digital turntables or CDJ's.

Flight002 - Australia | BIGELOW

Lateral | @lateraltechno

Bio | Lateral is a Melbourne based techno artist. Most of his releases residing on Melbourne-based record label 'Machine' @machine-label; the label he proudly calls his home. Lateral came on board as a Partner in Machine Label in 2016 and shares responsibility for sourcing and selecting music for the label with Andrew Till. He has been making music and DJing for the last 14 years or so.

Chris Sosa | @chris_sosa

Bio | Chris Sosa is a Dutch based Techno DJ who has been part of the Dutch scene for over 17 years. After he was introduced to DJ’ing by a close friend, he was hooked big time. Since then he’s mostly been playing in Holland, Turkey and in the UK, but COVID-19 changed everything. Chris is a technology enthusiast. As soon as the lockdown started, a friend an him started the DJ livestream platform Quarantunez so to bring the party straight into everyone’s living room.

Danny Wabbit | @thedjwabbit 

Bio | Danny Wabbit’s musical journey awakened at the age of 8 after he received his first guitar. This gradually built up an interest in developing his DJ skills by the time he turned 15 and got into electronic music. Afterward, moving to Turkey pushed him into music production after performing at a local techno club in Istanbul. A little over a year and a half later Danny has signed with labels such as say what records, ballroom recordings, Phobiq, and plazma records to name a few gaining, support on his tracks from artists around the globe. The artist combines simplicity and minimalism and emphasizes the vibrancy of the dark atmosphere while creating his powerful, sometimes aggressive, mind-altering and eccentric art compositions.

Flight006 - Turkey | Danny Wabbit

Karl Alexander | @karlalexander 

Bio | Karl Alexander started his DJ life playing progressive trance on Vinyl in his early teens, brought upon by his love for big synth classic works by the likes of Samuel Barber. 
His love for big bass and his evolution towards hybrid-live digital DJ’ing is what eventually drove him to techno where he uses records, samples and drum computers to create his signature sound. Bass driven, deep and hard. 

Known for his legendary afterparties and raves, Karl is Amsterdam based and has mostly been playing in Holland, UK and Turkey. He’s the owner of the AfterLive Video Streaming platform and part of the TOF and Gewaagd crew who organize about a dozen techno parties every year concentrated in North-Holland.

Flight007 - Netherlands | Karl Alexander

Blacktextured | @blacktextured

Bio | Blacktextured, a.k.a. Mehrshad Toloue, is a DJ and Producer based in Tehran, Iran. His music and sets are very minimal with high dosage of basslines and very dark atmospheres and textures; hence his DJ name. He is 24 years old, and ever since he was a child he has been fiddling around with softwares, and only last year did he start learning music production. Six months later he signed with Thunderstruck Records, STRND Records, Neu Gravity, MVRDV Records and others. He has also recorded sets for Oni recording, MVRDV Records, Techno Tehran, Terror Mix Podcast, and Deep Black Sheeps.

Flight008 - Iran | Blacktextured

Bio | Miroir, a.k.a. David P, is a French DJ based in Saint Nazaire along the West coast of France. According to David, it all started in 1992 with the discovery of the world of raves, acid house parties and also with the appearance of the first vinyl record stores where he spent a large part of his time looking for new releases. His first purchases were from labels like axis synewave and djax-up beats. Then DJs collectives based in Nantes such as Phantastek, regularly invited him to launch their techno parties where he would play progressive and hypnotic mixes. Known by the name of Dj Dav at that time, and today it is through Miroir, French for Mirror; that he wishes to share his reflections and musical influences with all those who's "hearts vibrates again and forever with the bass of electronic music."

Damne | @damnepha

Bio | Russian Techno and Minimal soundproducer. His music productions were supported by Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna, Fer BR, Siles, Shiba San, Horatio, Cristian Varela, Sisco Electrofanatic, Elmar Strathe, Florian Frings.
Amongst others, built with quality elements proper to warm up well built Dj sets and modern rooms without doubt. From minimal and organic textures, to mind blowing 4x4 Rhino-techno beats and deep bassy atmospheres.
This author’s set shows his current status. The sound becomes heavier and dirtier every year, and is already on the verge of Hypnotic / Modular Techno.

Flight010 - Russia | Damne

Julian Mesa | @julianmesaofc
 
Bio | Julian Mesa is a house and techno artist from Brooklyn, NYC - now based in Bahrain. Inspired by some of the more artistic names in underground dance, he draws influence from the likes of Ellen Allien, Fabio Florido, Jon Hester, Keith Carnal, Alex Baciu, and Satoshi Tomiie to name but a few.
Growing up stateside in the ‘90s, Julian was exposed to a wave of what is now considered to be some of the most important records in electronic music history - a rich musical background that he has carried with him along the way to refining and perfecting his craft.

Flight011 - Bahrain | Julian Mesa

Petit astronaute | @astronautepetit

Bio | Started in 2010, Petit Astronaute has been developing its music for about ten years. His first ep (Line of Line) was released on: Pardon Records and a second ep (From Earth) came out on Circular Limited. Very well received on the electronic scene, he is supported by artists such as Justine Perry, Svarog, or Joachim Spieth. His third EP (Spirit of the Earth) came out on Aarden Records, supported by big names of the deep scene.  Like its name, Petit Astronaute delivers a techno-spacial, harmonious and even almost seraphic techno.

Ben Cyan | @bencyan

Bio | Ben Cyan is a London-based techno DJ, focused on the deep and hypnotic side of things. He contributes an exclusive 1.5 hour session for Studio 11.12, exploring ethereal, atmospheric and driving techno terrain. 
Ben's sets are all about the journey - intent on taking the listener on a trip through contemporary techno across its different forms. Consistent with his Kaibosh deep techno podcast series, the focus here is on showcasing deep and tunnelling techno cuts - rich in atmospheric pressure, mysticism and twisted sub driven rhythms. Music for the body, the mind & soul.

Flight013 - United Kingdom | Ben Cyan

Commodus of Rome | @commodusofrome

Bio | Liam ( Commodus of Rome), multi disciplinary artist residing in Melbourne, Australia. He is drawn to the depths by hypnotic rhythms, lucid soundscapes and driving primal energy that transcends into deep techno. Liam is not limited to finding inspiration only through sound but also through sight, the sights of desolation, as of an empty forest smothered by mist or the angst that compiles brutalist architecture.

Adelia | @adelia_adelia

Bio | Recently relocated to Barcelona, Adelia is a dj from Prague, Czech Republic. Dj-ing since 2015, she started off by playing dark techno but gradually shifted towards more hypnotic and mental techno. In her sets she expresses feelings from other universes, with the deep and dreamy sounds she flood her sets with. In the past she curated her own events at the legendary Cross Club in Prague where she would invite djs to play. She has also played across other countries and she loves dancing as much as she loves playing music. She is therefore constantly traveling around Europe for techno; a raver before even being a dj. 
Her face picture is this dreamy character. To her, the main focus is music and not whether she’s a man or a woman.

Adelia happens to be our first female on board Studio 11.12 Flights, perfectly rising for the occasion.

Artwork | One of the highest mountains in Spain where Adelia was mountain climbing just three weeks ago. She says she’s done many crazy things in her life, and yet this was one of her best experiences.

Shelley | @shellsn

Bio | The passion for music has always been there. Before Shelley started DJ-ing in 2019 she was dancing in Clubs across Germany.
She figured out how much fun it was to play music and found more and more love for deep techno. She loves to let the music drift and to dive into another world. Her sets is a combination of deep, hypnotic elements, as well as powerful, captivating rhythms.

Bio | How does experimentation influence sound design? This is the question Nick Roberts investigates in his monthly podcasts, which deliver sonic landscapes of what he considers to be intelligent design. Growing up consuming the likes of Future Sound of London, Aphex Twin and Jean-Michel Jarre, it is clear how an appreciation for innovation first developed. Throughout the Sry_Not_Sry series Nick has been pushing sounds across the spectrum of techno, with the clear objective to support artists and labels.

Flight017 - United Kingdom | Nick Roberts

RAMKKA | @ramkka

Bio | RAMKKA is a DJ and producer from a small town in Ireland that has been fascinated with techno since he was a teenager. His love for the genre developed after seeing Dave Clarke many years ago and he has been DJing since then with his production career coming more recently. His brand of techno is dark, hypnotic and driving and he states DJs like Oscar Mulero, Lewis Fautzi and Norbak as his inspirations. His first EP was released earlier this year on Spanish industrial label Truc Records followed by a track on heavyweight UK techno label Taro Records with another 2 3-track EPs on the way alongside other remixes and tracks which have also been signed by labels across Europe.

Bio | "I was born in Damascus, Syria. My teenage years were mostly spent in Beirut, Lebanon which at that time was starting to become a hub for techno in the world whereas artists are flocking to it from every corner of the world. Warg was a project started by myself after long years of listening to electronic music in all its forms. Starting out as a listener forced me later in the years to further implement my knowledge of tracks and artists into creating my own profile. One year into mixing, I found myself intertwined with the vast networks I have made across many countries with several artists that further pushed me to expand my sound. Currently, in Cyprus, I am working towards making a residency at a club and later on branding my name as a renowned mark in the scene here. This project aims to provide a mixture of dark beats and intricate percussion alongside wavy melodies. Just starting up so I tend to push the boundaries of the norm."

Bio | Massa (Bcn / Spain) is a dj, producer and the founder of hidden traffic (2016) a label which serves as a space to share his view and host some of the artists relating to the deep techno scene. He began his music journey in the late 90’s spinning a more industrial sound which slowly took him to the present moment, holding some events in the legendary Moog Barcelona and playing in other cities across Europe.

We curate raves and we run a podcast mix series 'Studio 11.12 Flights'.

Our raves, labeled as 'Listening Parties', started as a house party and grew to small private raves. The name was inspired by a cover story by RA about Listening Bars in Japan. And Studio 11.12 was named after the actual studio apartment where Herr Banna lived and where this party series started. 

Our mix series; labeled ‘Studio 11.12 Flights’, features DJs from around the world that we very selectively approach. The idea is to expose our audience and local crowd to quality sounds from around the world in the hopes of expanding their knowledge and widening their taste of good music.
