Nathan M. Schilz is a songwriter, film and theatre composer, and theatrical sound designer from Seattle, WA. His first musical, "Nightmare Man," premiered at the MN Fringe Festival 2011 followed by the 2012 MN Fringe production of "Kafkaesque: A Musical Metamorphosis." He is currently working on his first full-length show, "American Nightmare: The Trials of Jeffrey Dahmer."

Nathan is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, drums, voice, oboe, baritone, violin, piano, organ, etc.) with an extensive background in music theory, composition, and arranging.  In June of 2008 he also attained Operator-level Certification for Pro Tools software from the Institute of Production and Recording. He is currently in the process of obtaining Ableton Live certification through Slam Academy in Minneapolis.

Nathan's Schilz's style is caught somewhere between lush orchestra and raging guitars, sincere piano and thumping ambient beats.  Each work is different, and that is how the composer approaches each new project--a challenge to create a new sonic field to support the director's vision.
