Fresh parcel from the Northern European nebula, here. Sombrero Galaxy is Red Light Radio's Tako Reyenga and London artist Jonny Nash. Tako and Jonny run spiritually fraternal labels: the former, Music From Memory; and the latter, Melody as Truth - both ultra-distinctive imprints born out of improvised jams with Suzanne Kraft, Young Marco, and Gigi Masin alongside retrospectives from the likes of Joel Graham and Michael Turtle.

"The Edge of Space" is (as title suggests) an endless flight into the ether: all bubbling arpeggiators, kosmische synths and wide-eyed wonder. Cut from a weekend of sprawling space-jams in Jonny's North London home in 2012, it now finds a home on Second Circle - a sub-imprint of Music From Memory.

Sombrero Galaxy "The Edge of Space" - Boiler Room Debuts

Following a run of releases for his Retrograde label and a track featured on the 100 Dirt Crew Compilation Berlin based DJ and producer Marlon Hoffstadt continues his upwards trajectory, once again enlisting the services of legendary Chicago vocalist Paris Brightledge who recently collaborated with Paranoid London on their "Paris Dub 1 & 2" records.  
 Stepping up first is the original mix of ‘Shattered’ with Hoffstadt and Brightledge delivered a raw, experimental house feel via broken drums breaks, sweeping synth chords and acidic bass chops, whilst Paris’ vocal stylings add a soulful edge to the record. An ‘Instrumental’ mix of ‘Shattered’ follows and as the name would suggest lays focus on the rhythmic and melodic aspects of the composition, shining light on the swinging breaks, emotive string melodies. Lastly to complete the package is ‘Elevate’ which sees Hoffstadt fuse weighty drums and ethereal pad swells with arpeggio synth leads and subtly unfolding intricacies, whilst Brightledge’s understated vocal contributions further fuel the records hypnotic feel.

Once Upon A Passion is the debut album from Bella Boo, arriving on Studio Barnhus shortly after a sprinkling of releases through the label that have quickly established the currently LA-based producer (and longtime Stockholm dj hero) as one of dance music's most distinctive new voices. "I made the album this spring during an intense creative period back home in Stockholm. I was obsessed with my studio, I wanted to spend all my time awake there. I found out I was getting evicted from it, this sudden chock turned into a decision to do this album. It made sense, like an "end of an era" thing. I was pretty isolated back then, spending almost all my time outside of the studio with my daughter Bozi. She snapped the cover photo while I was picking out records for a gig. I never wanted to leave the studio during these months, but I realise now how the breaks with Bozi worked for the process - they gave me space to reflect on the music I was making. That dynamic was exactly what I needed to finish this album." - Bella Boo
