"I Hate Love Songs" by Viscera is a previously unreleased song that comes from a recently digitized cassette of original recordings made by Debbie Jaffe and Hal McGee in late 1982. Like many songs of that era "I Hate Love Songs" was improvised, with Hal McGee declaiming a poem while Debbie Jaffe created a sound setting on two Casio VL-Tone keyboards. The song was one of many recorded with a Panasonic shoebox style mono cassette recorder onto a cheap 90-minute Intermagnetics brand cassette, and was recorded in Apartment #22 of the Chalet apartments building at 821 North Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
