Now live at the Blur Podcasts, the German and Dutch producer duo - Horsemen! 

Hailing from Berlin and Amsterdam, Horsemen have been put into the spotlight with their Lo-Fi House hit “Voltaire” in 2019. The duo consisting of a self-taught musician and film composer and an audio engineer have come up with a string of acclaimed releases since, catching the attention of legends like Laurent Garnier and Chez Damier along the way.

As DJs and dedicated record diggers Horsemen like to blend a wide range of styles. Whether it’s 90s house, UK infused breaks or modern day deep house - their selection is always made with an eye for that special dance floor energy that keeps a party going.

Next to their own productions they’ve also been building their own label “Talkbox Recordings” to support up and coming talents and as part of the trio “Love Ensemble” they’ve released on the legendary label “Nervous Records”.

With quite a few releases on the horizon for the next few months, they’re for sure one to watch.

What's shakin' funky people?! We are back with Volume 201 of the series and we are proud to present a veteran of the Los Angeles house scene, DJ Suave!

Dj Suave is a 37 year veteran dj from Los Angeles with no signs of slowing down. He started djing in 1985 and was heavily influenced by the mix masters on 1580 KDAY ( L.A.'s first Hip Hop station )  which included djs from The World Class Wreckin Crew & Jamin Gemini.

 

He was introduced to House music in 1987 by a friend that had a mix tape by the Legendary New York Dj Larry Levan. Since that day Dj Suave fell in love with House music and has never looked back!

Hailing from West Covina, ( a suburb of Los Angeles ) Dj Suave noticeably stood out from the rest of his dj peers through out the S.G.V. & I.E ( counties of the greater Los Angeles area ). Due to his Underground education, while all the other djs were playing “Hard House” & Top 40, Dj Suave stayed true to himself and kept on pushing Underground House music. And that caught the attention of radio host from Power 106  Richard Vission. Dj Suave was asked to be a regular on Powertools, ( a mix show on Power 106 ) making him not the first dj to play underground Deep House, but he was the first regular dj on Powertools to play Deep Underground House Music. Suave was a regular on Powertools from 1994 – 2007.

Dj Suave is one of the most versatile djs around. From Latin, Funk, Afro-Beat, Disco, Latin Jazz, Bosa, D&B, Soul, Deep House, House, Tech House & Techno. With over 17K records, Dj Suave still plays vinyl as much as he can. Producing the “Estereo” parties, which featured an all vinyl classic house night.

DEEP HOUSE MIX VOL 36

Feeling a little bit inspired by my pals set the other night, I thought I'd try and do a mix that attempted to straddle different genres of house music in a mix-it-up kinda way.

It's not quite as adventurous as Grant's set was at the brilliant Vivid People's 2nd Birthday event at Steelyard, and it doesn't flow as well as a set could if the music was similar throughout, but it's actually quite challenging putting a set together that has disco/funk, Nu-Disco, house, soulful house, classic house, electronica, tech house and deep house together into just 2 hours.  It's not easy to make it flow and easy on the ear, but it's a reasonable attempt. A little more practice is needed though  🙏😂

These are all tracks that make me smile and want to dance regardless of the genre that Traxsource attaches to them 💃🏻🕺

Studioheist are Scott Lee & Andy Cain, two music obsessed DJs & producers hailing from Manchester.
The pair have been active on the scene for almost 15 years both being DJs in their own right. Scott having held a residency at long running house night ‘Rude’ before gaining a regular slot spinning disco & house in the bar at Sankeys, and Andy who began his career DJ’ing on the early 00s Manchester house scene before securing a long running residency with Disco Electronica at Sankeys.

They have really gained momentum over the past couple of years being charted at 29 in the Traxsource top 100 deep house artists in 2015 and making the top 20 in 2016 moving up to number 18. Their productions have also made an impact in the charts with 2 tracks in the top 20 in Traxsource’s top 200 deep house of 2015 and an amazing 6 featuring in the 2016 top 200 deep house with ‘All My Love’ making the top 10.

They have gained support from a whole range of artists and DJ’s including Simon Dunmore, Sandy Rivera, Low Steppa, Kenny Dope, Mousse T, Scott Diaz and even techno legend Marco Carola who played their remix of Tom Ellis' 'For Five' it at Amnesia closing in 2016. 

They now release consistently on legendary Chicago label Large Music and 2017 has seen them push themselves to produce more original house music breaking into the Beatport charts and hit top 40 with 2 tracks from the 'You' EP.
