this song and "if you want me gone" share themes - i also made this song during that period of uncertainty for the future, where i worried everything would be awful, and longed to stay in the past. funnily enough, i've now lived through all of the experiences i was worried about in this song. i predicted my own future in a sense. 

the "old bridge" mentioned in this song was renewed soon after i wrote this song. with the theme of everything changing too fast, it's fitting that a key focus of the song also no longer exists
