In the previous chapter, taking place in the Church's Dark World, Kris and the gang would have their prophesized showdown against the Roaring Knight. In a hard-fought battle, the Knight would be defeated - and terrified of what the ANGEL may do to him... He brings you down with him.

The three heroes meet their end there and fail to stop the Roaring. The world is consumed by darkness.

A familiar man far outside the confines of this world is unphased by such an end. You, however? Regardless of how you feel about this ending, you've somehow found your way where you shouldn't be - Back to where you first met him and the person who would've been your vessel, in the void at the start of the game.

You are given another chance to save this world, if you choose to accept the responsibility - By proceeding, you accept that everything that happens beyond this point will be your fault.

But first, you need to finish creating the body you'll inhabit, of course.

Meet ⬛⬛⬛⬛, your very own, personalized vessel! After drifting aimlessly and formlessly in the void for so long, discarded by that man in the void, they finally awaken and marvel at being alive and feeling... Or so they think. Can things that aren't real be considered alive?

Are you going to answer that question for them?

Regardless, ⬛⬛⬛⬛ is content with your desire to use them as a vessel. After being lost in nonexistence for so long, they're just happy to have company - Or perhaps, someone they can call a friend.

While you play as them, they'll learn from you, and they'll find out just how alive they are to you. It's up to you if they like what they learn.

(In game, ⬛⬛⬛⬛'s name is what you gave the vessel at the beginning of the game. Their canon name is most likely not the name you've given them, though.)

When you and ⬛⬛⬛⬛ finish introducing yourselves, the two of you exit the strange realm you find yourselves in through a frameless grey door - one that leads into the dead center of an open, colorless field of flowers unlike anything you've seen before.

It spreads out infinitely in every direction. Every now and then, you'll come across houses with locked doors and foggy windows, encounter strange creatures, or find odd structures jutting out of the ground as if they were haphazardly thrown there - Or maybe, they've found their way here the same way you did.

You just have to hope you'll find something important if you walk long enough - and pray that you manage to do so before something finds you.

Welcome to the Birthplace - if you wander far enough off-track in the fields, you'll find your way here. It's a surreal and dreamlike amalgamation of familiar corridors and rooms that merge with each other perfectly and fluidly, yet just strange enough to feel like something's wrong.

Here, the beginnings of multiple worlds converge at the end of this one. The Ruins, Toriel's house, Hometown, Castle Town... Somehow, this world has morphed them into a new area with a layout of its own, while retaining the same feel of the previous areas.

It's so close to being perfect... It's so close to feeling just like home.

And it was made just for You.

During fights, alone or with party members, your vessel has the ability to equip weaponry from any class or character and access their spells. You can change your weapon of choice in the ACT menu at any time as your turn. (For example, with Susie's axe, you'd gain access to Red Buster and Rude Buster. With Noelle's ring, you'd gain access to Iceshock and Snowgrave. Kris' sword gives you acces to X-Slash and Courage, and the list goes on - one for any playable character from any chapter.)

The vessel's default weapon of choice is a baseball bat, and it gives them the ability to 'Stun' enemies for a turn, making them unable to assist in the enemy's next turn - Something that will be incredibly helpful, considering the incredible power of these enemies.

These monsters are unlike anything you've seen in previous encounters, and they're much stronger - impossible to kill by normal methods and unbelievably ferocious, yet a hint of hesitation in their movements, as if they don't truly want to hurt you.

Maybe if you can cut their strings, you can end this fight peacefully? Of course, you could always just find a way to creatively put them out of their misery.

The bird almost immediately drops you into the chasm, revealing its true, predatory nature.

You land in the raging river beneath and struggle to resurface. The Reaper Bird awaits you at the surface, its form twisted and amalgamated from the cute bird it used to be into... This.

Despite the high defense on this creature, the viscous and almost non-solid form of this creature renders it quite vulnerable to attack. During this fight, you are forced to fight for your life - You cannot spare this. Either you kill it, or it kills you first.

Things don't look great for your chances of survival, though, as Reaper Bird is the milk boss of chapter six.

Sanguinolency

The third version of Template Strample, a combination of Wicher's and Igor's. Was removed because J-Bug eventually decided that the original version fit better, and had Wicher just make an updated version of that. The industrial sounds and "that scary intro from Igor's version" were kept however, so progress was indeed made over the course of these takes.
