JayPitts is an independent artist from Detroit with a fresh sound. He pulls inspiration from the soulful sounds of Detroit, but also doesn't shy away from delivering bars over more upbeat cuts. Crafting melodic song structures and having a solid sense of lyricism are his strong points. His early inspirations are Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Andre 3000 and Kendrick Lamar, which can be heard in his artistry. 
JayPitts isn't signed to any label, but he has big plans for his music career. He plans to expand his sound across the U.S. and extend overseas, attend festivals and collaborate with some of his favorite artists such as Anderson Paak, Smino, Kota the Friend, Jay Prince, Ravyn Lenae and Little Simz, just to name a few. 
 
"Yellow" was Jay's first breakout song, grabbing the attention of black women via the natural hair community on Instagram. Yellow uplifted and empowered women of color and the song circulated and became celebrated and used all across natural hair and make up videos on YouTube and Instagram, making it one of Jay's most impactful songs.
 
He followed up with a 9 song project entitled, "Free Fall" in April of 2019, which was received well by his fans for expressing more of Jay's personal outlook on life as a new father and family man.
JayPitts has shown time and time again that he can deliver great vibes and timeless music. He is now on the hunt for the exposure and recognition his music deserves.
