Several Definitions is one of those artists to watch. Last year was amazing for this swiss producer, with releases in labels like 'Stir Von Talent',' Selador' or 'Suara' among many others. His unique, melodic, powerful style defines in perfection the new way of the kitties label for this 2017. 'Run' is the opener track for this release: a raw beat and a big synth layer making a dancefloor winner. 'Be' sounds even bigger and massive but still raw, with trippy harmonies taken by Andre Kronert for his classic techno remix. Last but not least we have 'Shadow Trains', a track plenty of arpeggios and acid feelings. A complete and up-to-date package.

Dutch prolific artist Reinier Zonnerveld had a fantastic 2016. 'Things We Might Have Said' was one of the tracks of the year but he released a lot of great stuff in labels like Stir Von Talent among many others. He delivered a great work with his remix for Moby’s 'Natural Blues' as well and finally, here we have his official debut EP on the kitties label. After D.Y.A's and Kalyma's collaboration for Solide's eights catalogue number, latter returns solo for the label's latest release, 'Rites EP', a three tracker consisting of two original cuts and a remix. In traditional Kalyma manner and part of his trademark sound the Berlin based producer delivers an excessive drum-influenced EP opener, 'Rites', that signifies its dance floor potential within the first minute and teases with an incisive chord which marks the introduction of the track's coming in subtle key-melody. As the track continues Kalyma sprinkles with accentuated synth-chords that adapt to the overall harmonies and set new auditory stimuli before the track enfolds its full peak-time potential.
Kalyma's second cut, 'Red Man Calypso', comes in an original version and a Whitesquare remix. As the original highlights whizzling and sizzling synth pads that create late summer esthetics over a proper house bassline, Whitesquare's remix approach concentrates on the low frequencies as the Italian producer implements a reduced bassline smoothly supporting the synth-chords which he adapted from the original. Due to the reduction the remix depicts a multi-layered almost paradox atmosphere – buoyant and joyful on the one side, dark and desperate on the other – the listener is torn between but never lost as the beauty and life-affirming vibe prevails.

Erol Alkan returns to Phantasy with 'Spectrum' and 'Silver Echoes', two pure dance floor cuts which perfectly embody Alkan's charismatic, psychedelia tinged and singular approach to DJing and production.

"Dear friends, it feels so good to be able to write that new music is finally out there. You can stream 'Silver Echoes (Shorter)' from today, ahead of full release on Friday 9th November.  It's a double A side single coupled with 'Spectrum', which I've been playing throughout the summer. The sleeve is also double sided, with the 'Silver' side right above this text, and the flip in full colour.

Both 'Spectrum' and 'Silver Echoes' represent different sides of my current approach to DJing. Ever since I decided to focus on playing longer sets, it immediately became apparent as to the kind of club records I felt I needed to make. I've always loved records which have a distinctive fusion about them, and I feel that 'Spectrum' embodies this... 'Silver Echoes' has that thread of melancholy which seems to manifest itself in much of what I do. Of all the club records I've made, these are two that came together far more naturally. Perhaps it's because I made them for myself, but I hope others will find something in them too.

After spending the last 5 years recording bands, or collaborating with other artists, I decided to write music for my Dj sets, and this is the first offering. Thanks for listening" - Erol Alkan

Prolific Icelandic artist and Brooklyn native Hólmar is next up on Get Physical with a pair of superb originals, while he also serves up a remix of a track by Bluetech.

Hólmar was formerly one half of the Thugfucker outfit but now he goes solo and is on his own musical adventure. He has been part of various other collaborations such as Lovestruckk with Nico Stojan, Theory of Light with Brian Cid and The Birds Fly South with Maxxi Soundsystem before now. His organic solo sounds always fuse house, disco and weirdness into fun new forms and this new EP is no different.

The release opens in style with ‘The Swirming Mermish’, a brilliantly slow-burning, deep and cavernous house track with warm rolling drums and an atmospheric sense of late night ambiance up top. Distant percussive sounds and twinkling keys keep you locked as this tense but inviting track unfolds with real emotion.

His other original is ‘The Nanananinai’, a perfectly loose house groove with sliding hi hats and bird calls, warped bass and a playful sense of groove. It’s a naturalistic track that really elevates your spirits with its musical lushness and angelic vocal sounds.

His final trick is to remix Bluetech’s ‘Worthy’ into an epic ten-minute piece. This moving bit of electronic music has exotic male vocal chants and pressurised bass. It’s an elongated trip into hypnotic, soul soothing sounds that ebb and flow in absorbing fashion.

This E.P is Holmar’s send off to those who have left us too soon; Bubbles, Lukas Bonaventura, Dwight Wilson, Sa’d Ali, Frank Olivo, Navid Izadi and Ómar Friðleifson who ascended to the big Mothership in the Sky…

Domenico Ferrari and Bálint Dobozi are Pacifica, another fantastic signing by Get Physical.

This electronic duo focuses on playing live and has risen through the vibrant Swiss scene to be one of the hottest acts out there right now. EPs on Drumpoet Community and Zukunft Recordings have established their rolling underground sound and showed off their love of analogue bass and spacey synths. Now they explore cinematic house on their latest two cuts on Get Physical.

Opener ‘Blue Valentine’ is a sensual, laid-back deep house track with dreamy pads and airy rhythm guitars drifting around a gentle groove. The vocals by Berlin underground hero Khan (Khan of Finland) are heartfelt and add to the soul-soothing effect of the track overall.

‘Nelson' shows another side of the duo - more straight-forward and energetic, but just as stylish. Here they carry you off into a cosmic sky, with great effects and silky arps layering emotion, light and intensity in equal measure.

These are two stable and tasteful house tracks to bring heart to any set.

The uber-talented Romanian DJ and producer Mihai Popovicu is considered one of the most innovative eastern European producers of electronic music today and finally returns to Poker Flat Recordings once again. 

Continuing his rich vein of form into 2019, the Understand EP drops soon after his collaboration with James Dexter, and once again shows why he's well worth getting excited about. 

First up on this release is 'Inside Me', which underlines Popoviciu's perfect understanding of how to create rich and thick grooves from a minimum of sources. The track bumps and rolls, helped along by a deep, evolving bass lead that will undoubtedly get rinsed all over the summer. 

Similarly, 'Understand' keeps the vibe - a heavy tech house hitter with some classic feeling stabs and nice vocal snippets.
