This Album, a child of the Shelter Me Festival in December 2020, is in Aid of Shelter UK and the wonderful work they do to helping people with homelessness or difficult housing conditions. 

The Festival took place over 3 days, across the 3 cities of Manchester, London and Leeds, and several of the artists who performed live at the event have contributed to this production too. 

The track used for the project is entitled Shake Up Your Mind by Steady State which contains a vocal sample of Ofra Haza from her song entitled Im Nin Alu. All remixes were created with the greatest love and respect, with one common goal, to help others less fortunate than ourselves through music, unity and genuine will to make a positive change. 

Each and every one of the artists, producers and mastering services have generously given their time freely to create a unique album of 21 remixes, spanning a colourful musical spectrum from Dense Dark Dubbiness, through Timeless Techno and Uplifting Acid, to Squelchy Squalid Chuggers. 

This is a limited release with all proceeds going to Shelter Uk.

Wir freuen uns euch den nächsten Künstler in unserer Podcastreihe begrüßen zu dürfen. Marcus Meinhardt wurde schon früh Resident im bekannten Muna Club und teil der Crew, die zu den Initiatoren des Sonne Mond Sterne Festivals  gehörte. Nach seinem Umzug aus der thüringischen Heimat nach Berlin, wagte er den Kopfsprung in die pulsierende Clubszene der Hauptstadt. 2007 gründete er erst das Label Upon You – 2012 folgte Heinz Music und feiert gerade sein dreijähriges Bestehen mit einer großen Compilation, gemixt vom Labelchef höchstpersönlich. 

Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass nun auch der Resident aus dem Kater Blau eine Ausgabe zu der JedenTagEinSet Podcastreihe beisteuert. Viel Spaß mit Marcus Meinhardt!

There was a strange tension which hung in the air, the stock market had come to a complete and utter standstill whilst several people had fallen slumped to the floor in disbelief. Money wasn't everything, at least that was what they had said back in high school. However, stood out there under the glow of advertising banners and digital displays it sure as hell felt like it. This was a 'cba quake' of monstrous proportions and how on earth were they supposed to bounce back? 

Jaures is next up on Die Orakel, the record label run by Oliver Hafenbauer out of Frankfurt and boy does he bring the heat. Perhaps one of our favourite releases this year so far. Worlds collide as he explores synth pop, electro and house.

Premiere: Etcha - Stephen Hawking (TYU Espacio Remix) [Duro]

Our next release on Phantasm comes with the trippy leftfield electronica, dark disco and EBM flavours of the @pin-up-club .

In their own words “For this EP we chose to work with natural ambient sounds as a background for each track. So if you listen carefully you can hear dogs barking, crickets chirping and other ambient noises we've recorded ourselves on our travels,” say the pair who derived these tracks from live jam sessions using plenty of proper hardware, a Roland Space Echo and Fender Stratocaster, amongst other things'.

The title track ‘Naoshima’ is a mix of deep house drums and organic claps. Broad synths stretch out to add scale and dreamy acid takes your mind away into a reverie.  Perel then serves up a harmonically rich and deliciously disco flavoured remix.

As a special extra @sinchicollective then put together a bonus digital remix, going down a slightly more rugged route, whilst retaining the emotive synths.

For WS23 we head to Leeds, where Clandestino crew member Joe Morris has been involved in the underground music scene for over 15 years, with a sound that takes in influences from the glory days of Acid House, the melodic elements of Balearica and the drama of Disco. Here, Joe vibes us out with a stunning Balearic house tune, Cloud Nine. On remix duties we are thrilled to feature a master of the Balearic house scene, Max Essa.

Wonder Stories is a vinyl and digital label for left-field house, disco, and techno. While their sound is eclectic, many similarities can be heard in the ethos of the music. It’s earnest, forward-thinking, and danceable.

Over the course of four unforgettable EPs released on Throne of Blood since 2013, Hardway Brother Sean Johnston has cultivated a broad international following for his singular brand of dancefloor fodder.

Best known as one half of legendary DJ team A Love From Outer Space alongside the one-and-only Andrew Weatherall, Johnston’s roots in the dance music scene include a clutch of leftfield 90’s era bangers on labels like Sabres of Paradise and Flashcomm. Beyond his original output, Johnston has also remixed the likes of Man Power, The Asphodells, Museum Of Love, Split Secs, Clandestino and many more.

The Laser EP is peaktime Hardway Bros business. “Friedman Feedback Loop Revision” (a nod to TOB boss James Friedman’s highly-valued opinions) is a masterclass in efficient simplicity, elevating a few basic loops into an exhilarating 8 minute monster. “The Laser” rounds out the a- side with a classic electro rhythm/bass/vocal sample combo could easily have landed in retro territory. Instead, Hardway Bros easily flips a clutch of oldschool tricks into an utterly modern execution. The b-side finds TOB’s label manager Max Pask injecting “Friedman Feedback Loop Revision” with his love for all things analog and Italo. With his impressive collection of synths brought to life by Chinatown Records’ Brennan Green, the song is transformed into an epic set- closer that’s already devasting dancefloors like Berlin’s Panorama Bar. The EP closes with “Afro Sirene,” a midtempo groover with melodic arpeggios built for the discerning DJ’s warm-up set.

Her weekly radio show, Energy Flash, on Internet Public Radio, showcasing underground and leftfield electronics. Recent production on Discos Sentimiento.
